Hello everyone,
I am currently looking to purchase either a new 2013 or order a 2014.
I currently own a 2003 SVT Lightning and I am looking to trade that in for my Raptor purchase.
So I started looking online first found a few dealers in the area that had them listed on their websites and when I called they said they where actually still waiting for them to come in. I finally found 2 dealers in New Jersey ( I am in New York city) that had some. First guy had a demo went their they told me owner driven Blah Blah and he added some extras too it. It had 5990 miles and they where asking 58,000 and would not budge. OK i said I would like to order a new one he said no problem but you would have to pay $3,000 over sticker???
I tried searching but could not find a answer on here but is this normal on an order? He said it would cost me $3,000 over sticker?
Second dealer I called that was near the first dealer told me on the phone YEA we have two in inventory there here. I said ok so I go there and sure enough they had two... Two roush version which they where asking for 16,000 over sticker for that package and they where both 2013 and would not go down on the price.
My question is are both these scenarios normal and is this what I have to expect trying to purchase one of these trucks??
thank you in advance for your help,
Jimmy

A Roush raptor is different and seen those go for that over sticker but it really should be that over what your should really pay for a raptor in the first place. A Shelby raptor starts at $18k over. There is a dealer in NY that has two 2014 Raptor's that I saw posted here and was selling them near invoice but you probably got to move quickly. A lot of times, a raptor on a lot will demand sticker but if you order, then you can get them close to invoice but you have a long wait. I paid $50 over invoice (plus $249 admin fee) and was told 4 - 6 month wait. It was built in 2.5 months and hope to pick it up in about two weeks, so they got it done a little earlier than I was told.
I'll look around for those two raptors here and post back. You also need to look in the 2014 Forum thread and review the one about dealers selling near invoice.

Heard that Steve will order at invoice to if you want to wait.

Good advice above. In 2012 I found FRF, I read the posts concerning buying at invoice. I test drove a used raptor & knew that I wanted one. I set out on A mission to order one at invoice. After trying several dealers in my area, I found one that was willing to order me one at invoice.

If you find what you want on a lot somewhere, it may be worth paying a little more so you can get it sooner.

How close are you to Rochester? Van Bortel seems to be the go to dealer. They even have some back out of orders and still sell them at invoice.
