Nope. If you look again you will see an exchange option. Again you pay the shipping but ROC sends you a set of Fox shocks to use while yours are being rebuilt.

I honestly don't know the cost on shipping but I don't think it's all that bad even if you are on the wrong side of the country from ROC in Sacramento, CA.

For 3.0 upgrades...

@Jimbo @2014RubyRed and you can get those two in to a knife fight real easy.

I'll have to look into that. So, if I'm understanding this right, I remove all 4 of mine, pay them $200 + shipping to and from me. They send me a set to use in the mean time, then they send mine back and I send the loaners back??

Yep... Actually they send you shocks first for you to remove then you sends your for rebuild.

HOW IT WORKS

Shoot a email to [email protected] with the subject of "Shock rebuild" and your member name
Exchange order will be done as a first come first serve communication
Once a set of shocks available we will send you shipping instructions for you to send in your shocks
Once we receive your shock we will verify they are not beat to holly heck and gone before proceeding.
After inspection, instruction for payment and return shipping label will be requested.
Shocks mailed to you.

Maybe $100 for shipping is my guess.

Sold - sounds like a steal. I'll be taking part in that whenever I get the opportunity.

That stinks. Were you guys off by a lot of money?

Off by 5k. They tacked on 5k to their asking price in the form of a bunch of fees, we bought a 4Runner for my wife from one of their sister dealerships and only paid $1400 for tax, tag, title, and fees - so I know this 5k number is high.

I pointed out that during the pre-sales inspection they measured the tires, which barely passed state inspection - they refused to acknowledge or address it with either a price adjustment or replacement.

Also pointed out that the blower motor resistor needed replaced (fan stuck on low) as well as the shocks needing rebuilt since they already had almost 75k on them without a rebuild. They refused to budge at all, so I walked.

There was also some issues with communication. I had to take a call for work (less than 3 minutes) and while outside the finance manager tried to negotiate with my wife and strong arm her into signing a purchase commitment. At this point - if they called back and offered to sell at the price I wanted I probably won't go back out of sheer principal. Am I being a bit stubborn? Maybe. I'll live with it though. I'll find the Raptor for me out there, just gotta keep looking.

I say screw them and move on. Even if they call you back, tell them no thanks. You'll have to spend some money on tires, shock rebuild and the resister motor. What is your budget?

Ideally looking for something under 40k. I know that's a tall order, so I'm not going to be in too much of a hurry. However, at this point I've got 12k for a downpayment that I got from the sale of my 2005 FX4 and I'm thinking about just saving it and adding to it until the right one comes along. That way while I'm looking for "the one" I'm still saving money towards the right Raptor.

Good idea unless you really need a new ride. Are you only looking for local trucks only or are you willing to expand your search?

I'm looking all over the place, just looking to find a good deal. If the deal is good enough I'm not above getting a local to inspect it then buying a one way ticket and driving the sucker back home. This one was local so it would have been nice if it would have worked out. Oh well - the search continues! One funny thing though is that initially I was looking at getting a loaded FX4 until my wifes cousin made me test drive his Raptor and then I was hooked. My Dad didn't understand why I wanted a Raptor instead of an FX4... until he rode in the one that I looked at today!
