just went thru the same problem you have. have the 6.2 did the stainless works long tube headers and high flow cats. turbo mufflers. cold air intake. got the check engine lite right off the start. rear o2 sensors. and o2 heaters front sensors. it says on the stainless works website the exact codes can appear. it says the rear o2s freak out because of so much flow. and the front o2s cant warm up fast enough. i had to do the 5 star tune. and all is well now. dont know how you would do it with the stock tune. unless you somehow tricked the rear sensors. if you go to stainless works site look under support and common questions.

did the sw full exhaust and got a cel code reads bank1 upstream o2, got to figure this one or won't pass emissions inspection no help from sw , going back and fourth with 5 star, hope to get a handle on this one. no one has seen this this code before , it is always the rear o2's. not the front . will see keep you guys posted on the fix.

Viper,
Swap you O2 sensors. See if the code then reads bank 2. If it does you have a bad sensor.

will try that

yeh, will try swapping out that bank 1 sensor with bank 2 sensor, and see what happens, going with tune, shuts off the rear 02 sensors but you can't pass emissions with them shut off, it will pick them up being off,and fail, so far i only have a code showing bank 1 ,that is the only code i got ,nothing out back on rear o2 sensors. mike at 5 star suggested switching the 2 up front to determine if i have a bad sensor, checked wiring and the plug are all good , the prongs are good and no wires are burnt, and no fraying and hung correctly and secure. will keep you posted on my results on switching them out . thx guys

All the rear sensors do is tell the PCM if the cats are getting up to the designed temp... having them turned off will not cause a failure on a test as long as the cats are working correctly...

a trick with emissions tests is to make sure you have your oil change right before you get it tested. The extra hydrocarbons in older oil will raise you emissions and can cause a failure. Like go to a oil change place then go directly to the testing place and do not idle in the line... Air filters affect as well...
you can get your fuel tank down low and mix up a small amount of E85 with gas so you are not running total E85 but more like E40 since the 6.2 aint made to run on total E85...or so that will reduce the emissions also...

When I was in calibration we used ENDOLENE CLEAR for reference fuel when we tested. We would fill the tank up and drive it for a few hundred miles to clean the cats up so they didnt have any shit it there when we tested emissions... Since you cant really trust what you are getting from filling stations... With the the daily, weekly, monthly changes in pump gasoline its not unusal for pump fuel to vary +-5%... Wish I was around th help ya more.. I always loved to do tricks to fool the testing places... lol

Dump a can of sea foam in the tank and suck some through vacuum line...

thx hockster

not 100% sure i will pass with this set up, hate to have to give up the headers and go back to just a cat back, my viper , ram srt10 all pass no problem, wifes jeep srt8, still has one more year on safety inspection. will test switching front 02's and see what happens. then i will throw 5 stars tune in .

^most inspection places have no clue since most of the systems I've seen look factory. Also, here in az, they just plug into your ecu to check for codes. A good tuner can turn off all emissions related shit such as o2 sensors, egr valves, etc so there is no MIL when they plug their scanner in. Hell, most of my cobra buddies are burning corn, almost no emissions, but have their shit turned off so they can pass the inspection. Sad that although they are among the cleanest burning fuels, they have to deceive the gov because of their ********* rules.

How can you pass if the sensors are off? The have to send/receive a reading to confirm they are functioning. They don't just check to see if you have thrown any codes.
