Towing around Texas, hills not mountains. Tows well IMO for being at the limits when the trailer is loaded. Only sway issues I've had was bringing it home after purchase. Dialed in the WDH better and loaded the front compartment in the camper (increasing tounge weight). Minor sway will start if speeds get up too high (80+) and big rigs passing. Barely notice the trailer is back there if I keep my highway speeds closer to 65-75. Gas mileage on the other is quite noticeable....

I have a 3500 pound newer travel trailer. Raptor does poorly with it because of squatting. Love my 2019 Raptor, but it’s not a good vehicle for towing

While I agree Raptors aren’t great at towing, 3500lbs should be no problem at all unless your setup is beyond horrible. I pull 3-3.5k regularly and it basically squats just enough to take the rake out.

thanks for all the feedback. Sounds like under 5k dry weight should be fine. 5-6k dry is pushing it

Single axle trailer
make/model of weight distribution hitch being used: none (yet) - didn't have a chance before I winterized it

Pulls fine, don't know its back there. It does squat a good bit. Will have a WDH put on in the Spring.

HAVE A REESE STRAIGHT LINE HITH.TRIED ALL THE OTHERS.REESE DID THE TRICK.NO SQUAT.DIDNT KNOW TRAILER WAS THERE.TRAILER WAS 6000 LBS PLUS

2800lbs is very light for that trailer too!

Dual axle is better on every metric except for cost.

Dual is much better. I just found a deal and couldn't pass it up. Will upgrade in the future. Its pretty light and a good "starter" camper for wife, dogs, and I.

Its more stable, allows more flexibility on how you position your load to get the proper tongue weight. Redundancy in case of a blow out or flat. I mean you’ll still need to pull over and get it changed ASAP but far less chance of anything more drastic happening.

You have more axles and tires to maintain but they are also handling bit more than half the load vs a single axle with the same cargo.

I have a single and wish I would’ve went dual from the start.
