doesn’t the Rap use the same harness as the stock F150, which has fogs as an option? There was a previous thread about using the peasant F150 headlight switch which has the foglight option, to save space on an up fitter. I never went to that trouble and frankly just leave the SAE on when they’re needed. I may need to cover them up for inspection, whatever, but they’re legal with low beams. I would like a bunch more light, but, these are street legal. Ideally, I’d love to have high beam trigger to my s-pro driving combo and just leave the SAE on, but again the hassle factor has stopped me to this point.

I know there are folks on here using a high beam trigger, there have been several threads and discussions. One of the members actually tracked down the 2 connectors needed, wiring and you just plug in the new ‘harness’ that has your relay trigger, no hacking the stock harness.

I got this set-up from 4x4LED:

Squadron SAE
Squadron SAE Amber
Squadron Pro Driving/Combo

I was being realistic with myself and here in DFW, I'm going to be 95%+ around town. So, that gives me two sets of foglights I can legally run around town. In darker or less ideal conditions, I'll turn on the the SAE Amber. It looks cool and does fill a bit out to the sides and does light fill the factory headlights a little bit. The other SAE light does more of the same and I don't notice a big light difference, but again it looks cool and does fill the factory headlights a fair bit. Also, it does make the truck more noticeable to oncoming traffic. Obviously a big Performance Blue Raptor is pretty noticeable anyway, but never hurts with all the complete morons running around nowadays.

The Squadro Pro Driving/Combo I aimed up and out a bit and I'll flip those on and they are very much brighter and the light up the road ahead on the sides and up. Those aren't street legal, so I only run them with no oncoming traffic when I'm on a dark back road or off-road.

I had the Squadron Pro combo on my prior Raptor. Once I got a light bar, I barely used them. there was just no comparison IMHO on light output or reach.

I too am suffering paralysis in analyzing the route I want to take here. I'm leaning toward the S8 behind the grill but installation may be beyond my skills and I've yet to make a move to find an installer. I've been given the names of 2 by the vendors here.

I also did use my outside smaller BD lights in the pocket and never once got blinked by oncoming traffic. I had them aimed down a bit and out and they lit the side of the road nicely.

I went with Offroad Alliance (ORA) for my fog pockets. I wanted all BD lights on my truck and I let them know that at the moment I don’t do much offroading at night. They set me up with their bezel kit, squadron pro drivers combo, sae fog, and the S1 cornering. I opted for the ORA amber S1 lens to match the ford marker lights. I also picked up their S2 reverse kit.

The S1’s are quite bright for their size, have good throw and flood, as well as match the marker lights very well. As many have already stated, the BD SAE do a great job with lighting up a broad area underneath the factory low beams so the roadsides hold less mystery. I’m also extremely happy with the performance from the drivers combo on dark country roads. The pocket bezel kit they sell was easy to install and completes the factory look of the stock bumper. ORA was easy to contact as they helped me with a few questions I had during the install (this was my first light install on any vehicle I’ve owned and amongst my first mods to the truck). I enjoy dealing with a company that answers the phone when I call. Both ORA and the BD lights impress me.

I went with Rigid in front and Black Oak in the rear.
Check them out. They make a great light.

Just got mine installed and had the chance to test them out on the road. For me, this is the "perfect" setup for my usage anyhow.

I went with the 4x4 Truck LEDS kit with the following:

  1. S2 Pro, Wide Cornering
  2. Squadron SAE, Wide Cornering Amber
  3. Squadron Pro, Driving/Combo

Great combination for road driving, and backroad driving to me. Especially in combination with the auto-highbeams it really fills out the lighting in a kind of '180 degree arc' around the front of the truck. The SAE ambers are excellent fog lamps, and the driving combo fills in with brighter light where the ambers don't / aren't as useful without heavy snow or fog & rain. I pointed my S2 Pros purposely down and to the left and right, to really fill in with light for cornering. I had gotten so used to the auto-cornering LED's on my Audi that I missed it with this truck. I find it even better than the auto-cornering lights now with this setup; might brighter and always illuminated and not a worry about pointing at oncoming drivers face either lol

While the S1's are not technically rated for on road use, our custom amber covers do knock down the overall brightness just a tiny bit. And there are plenty of folks do run them on roads.

Hey. I run them nearly every night that I’m on the road and I do not get flashed more than once a month. Before I put the pocket lights in I’d still get the occasional flash (just running factory headlamps). I think the S1’s with the off road alliance color match lens are good to go for on road use. I have them neutrally positioned, flush with the front of the 3 light bracket.

I recently got S1s and did a comparison with Squadron Pros. S1s are surprisingly bright in the driving combos ambers. Point the beam down.

I got different lenses for the S1s since I was worried about them being a nuisance. The spots are amazing by the way.

I think you’re still gonna get flashed from time to time. Not sure about when I install my S8.
