Level 2 upgrades

I do like the 2A & 2B packages, Is there a reason why they are pioneer subs? Have you done anything with the JL 13" ultra thin sub? I was trying to hold off on the audio upgrade but everytime I drive the car the stock sony system ****** me off, they should be shot for calling this an upgraded system. My mustangs shaker system is way better than this, would hate to see what the non upgraded raptor system sounds like.

Only other thing is for sound staging does the rear speakers need to be a matched set of components or will a slightly less expensive coaxial be OK. I never sit in the back so not really worried as much with how well it sounds in the back as upfront. Those riding bitch will just have to suffer..

I had Noah install a Level 2B system in my truck. I chose to go with 2 10" JL TW3 woofers in one of his boxes, mounted under my back seat. Noah has built/installed the 13" in trucks before, but it does stick out from under the rear seat.

To answer your other question, no, you do not have to put equal coaxial setups front and rear. I went JL Audio C3-570 speakers up front and JL C2-570x speakers in the rear. I'm very pleased with the setup. I'm sure audiophiles can hear a difference, but with the cymbals crashing off the outstanding tweeters in the A-pillars and the subs underneath the backseat, all I can say is that it sounds damn good.

Pro tip: Once Noah installs your system, be sure to play "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins. Tom Cruise won't have shit on you.

Yeah, the 13" went in my SCAB. It does stick out a bit, but it's not much and not noticeable in the SCAB at all.







The sub sounds great, btw! Powering it with a JL XD600-1.

when i first put these together jl did not have the 10" shallow woofer. since their release, i have given people an option of which woofer they want to go with. for the speakers, you dont need to go sith the same front and rear. you want to have the better speakers in front. coax are fine in the rear. just make sure to match brands. if you are using jl fronts, then use jl rears.

Awesome, Do you know if the JL Audio ZR650-CSi fit in the front doors with adapter plates? Would want those for the front and probably some c5-650x/C-670x in the rears. Just did not want to spend as much on the rears as the fronts.

premade adapter plates wont work. they are to shallow and you will need to cut a little of the door panel. if you make your own, then you should make it about 1/2" - 3/4" thick. then you wont have to modify the door at all. get the c3 570 for the rear to match it.

no need to spend the money on the rears. you want good speakers, but you dont necessarily need the c5. the c3's are plenty

Do the subs in the 2A and 2B both just go on the driver, 60 side of the rear seat?

Is there a spot for the amp on the 2B sub box?

on the supercabs, one or both woofers go on the drivers seat. but there is also an option for a 10" under the passenger side seat. depending on the equipment, it will have to go wherever it fits. i will also look for better pics.
