This thread is meant for those of you that use these trucks as advertised. Obviously a stock wheel (17x8.5, +34mm) is best suited for tucking under the fenders upon landing.

I wanted to get feedback from those with lower offset wheels that actually jump your truck and if you’ve had any rubbing or issues. What size/offset are we talking, what size tires do you run, suspension mods, etc. View attachment 484360
I’m running Bora 1.25” spacers on mine. Effectively makes it 0 offset. No issues so far. I jump it about 3 or 4 times per year.

I wish this forum had more threads like this. I ran 0 offset 17x8.5 rims on stock 37 ko2’s for 2 years and tons of fast offroading. You won’t get rubbing issues. There was a person who demonstrated you could rub a tad when the rear was fully articulated on one side in a rock crawling situation with zero offset, but since I don’t use my truck on jeep trails that never affected me.

Also someone on here mentioned needing 0 offset for SVC UCA’s and other brands. The short story is 0 offset is the safe bet but you can get away with more positive offset if desired.

This is my Gen 1 with the coil spring removed, & tie rod disconnected. Original rubber & 0 offset wheels. It "mostly" fits at full compression. The newer gens have better front fender clearance than us peons.

I agree, safe bet with the ko2’s you’re running.

0 offset with a true 37 MAY have issues and those guys running them should chime in. I know of guys with 37x12.50-17 toyo mt’s on a 0 offset wheel and they had to CUT, not trim, but that’s what they wanted to run and they weren’t jumping their trucks either.
I just measured my new 37x12.50-17 OEM spec BFG at 36x10, even though their specs show 36.5x12.5 online. The sidewall bulge measures 12”, tread measures 10”. That’s a small ass 37/12.50. I measured my spare tire on a stock 8.5” wide wheel, inflated to 35psi, on the floor, against the wall with a straight edge other side. Measured the sidewall with a straight edge across it to the floor. So, I think that’s pretty accurate.
If somebody really wants to run 0 offset and a bigger tire than stock BFG then don’t be afraid to trim a little IMO. Otherwise start measuring for the bigger tire and go a little more positive on the wheel offset accordingly.
Or OEM spec 37 BFG on 0 offset and no rubbing like @catinthehat85 is saying.

I happen to like the look of a more positive offset and the least poke necessary. So, if you’re in that boat THEN you’ll have to consider if you’ll ever replace the UCAs and those specific specs.

"I based it off of the Evil limit strap kit, used 12" straps, and I love it, gives me peace of mind, and on top, helps with the extreme cv angles, especially since I just went to the RCV delete as well!"

Did Evil make their own 1-piece, cnc-machined bracket, or was it a bushing welded to that oval bracket? Did they use longer bolts? Since they're gone, (and nobody else is making one that hangs off that ginormous bolt), I'm looking into making my own setup. I even looked into the possibility of welding a "D-ring" or a heavy tab onto the oem bolt and hanging a strap from that.. Buying an aftermarket steel LCA with a limit strap tab is not an option for me.View attachment 484585
I am not sure exactly on how evils was, just more so recreated what I had seen in their pictures. I have a buddy with the evil kit and I’ll shoot him a text and see what he says about how their lower bracket is made. I took a grade 8 washer, I believe a piece of schedule 40 1-1/4” tubing, and 1/4” plate for the bottom, all rig welded together. Just got back from Midwest Off-road Expeditions’ “Wendigo Watch 2025” in northern Michigan, and I noticed the ride was much quieter, as there was no more smacking at full droop. Also, everything seemed to hold together fine, but this summer in the dunes will be the real test
