Let’s be honest- The Raptor R is going to be expensive!

Do you guys anticipate being able to order the R when 2022 order banks open later this year? or do you think this will be a 2023?

Neither. I'd be shocked if it's ready to go by this September, and Ford is not going to let it slip till 23 when the promised it in 22. It will likely be revealed early in 22 with a summer release...pretty much how they did the Raptor this year.

Ford isn't stupid, they will make more of these are R's than most think. Still limited, but many dealers will get well more than one unit, I assure you. Like the GT500, dealers look to cars like this to pad the bottom line, since the rest of the cars are pure commodities ****** to volume unit moves. This will not be a one year and done by any means.

There is a lot of factors that will go into how many Rs Ford makes. We don't know how the chip shortage is going to impact production, and we know that Ford has CAFE standards to meet. Ford surely won't overproduce and flood the market either. We know that V8s is not the direction Ford wants to go, as they have been focused on TTs, hybrids and EVs.

I do agree that Ford will likely want to sell these for a couple years to payoff the investment, but I expect that the future of the Raptor is a different direction.

Yeah Stellantis keeps paying Tesla so they can keep putting all these Hellcat based vehicles on the road. I’m sure they are making money or they wouldn’t be doing it. If Ford sells a lot of R’s like they did 3.5 Raptors over the years, they may just pump it up and go with it for a bit. While hybrid and EV is there long term direction, they aren’t shutting down ice truck production so fast either.

Anything new? Ford better start droppin' some hype here and there as the TRX is dominating right now. All I've heard is that the 5.2 is having some durability problems when they wick it up.

Dominating? Yes, there aren't any completed '21 Raptor orders yet, so in that regard, the TRX is dominating. Doesn't seem like Ford is having any trouble getting all the orders they can handle for the Raptor though, so I'm not seeing why Ford needs to start hyping up anything.

If they are built in limited numbers, they will surely have a high markup. I just don't see how/why Ford would put much effort into the R when everything is going ev with arguably better performance.

I get it's a speciality vehicle, but I think both the TRX and R are a little late with these vehicles. They would have made sense 2-3 years ago and not when we have multiple companies about to release evs

Why did they put so much effort into it? It's what they do.

Look at all the hype around the poverty Gen 3 and the TRX. People are looking to spend $$ on just about anything right now. There is a lot of covid money sitting around.

I would think this is the perfect time to try and sell something like this.

This thread is about the Raptor R. At this time I don't have interest in the V6.

My guess is that the V8 will be a $10,000 option, some additional options may be required to bump that higher.

Then, the ADM will make it almost impossible to find one under $100,000. I don't think you'll find many dealers that won't have a significant markup on the R.
