Left rear door wire harness wires cut.

Same thing happened on my 2012. One door still needs new wiring. Will work on it soon.

Happened to both my rear doors, repaired twice, ended up replacing the wiring harness.

I actually just replaced the harness in my left rear door last month. I thought about trying to fix but I figured I'd fix one or two wires and then another would break. The lock stopped working so I replaced that unit before realizing it was the harness (I have had to replace the lock unit on the right front door so I thought it was the same thing). I also had the same symptom a few years back while still under warranty on the right rear door. They said they replaced the lock unit but I wonder if they also/instead replaced the harness. So, that's either two doors with bad lock units or two doors with broken harnesses on a 2014 with 73k.

Had the exact same thing happen on the same side. I think my speaker was also out for a while without me noticing. It was the door alarm that attracted my attention. I patched it back together. I'm sure I'll be in there again some day. It just looks like the opening/closing of the door wears out the wires.

So there is some debate within the industry around if soldering or crimping is better in these types of situations. There is an argument that in a location like this crimping with watertight heat shrink is better as over time the solder will crack and break apart. Just fun fact for if the issue comes back as a potential reason why.

Depends on how you tape it up though. As he said above, he taped it all tight so the flex isn't at the solder joint. If you stabilize the wires beyond the solder location then you are back to unsoldered stranded wires bending as they originally did.

FWIW, wires breaking on the back doors of 11th gen F150s is not uncommon. All at once is not the typical failure though.

Happened to me on my drivers door. 2014 165,000 miles, only 2 wires were damaged. All my windows stopped working except for the passenger and I had an airbag light on the dash as well as door ajar. Super annoying, glad I found the wires.
