ko2 and snow

good size snowstorm coming to nh , if it was me driving I would not be worried ,but my wife daily drives raptor to work . should I air down the ko2 to 30-32 psi all around to simulate a softer snow tire ,or r the ko2 good enough ,im not worried about her getting stuck ,im more worried about cornering and stopping . or should I just buy the Nokian lt3 for winter .

I’ve been using the K02’s on my raptor in Tahoe for years without problems. I’ve tried Duratracs, and Toyo ATII. They all work fine, but personally the K02’s are my favorite for the snow.

KO2 opinions vary greatly. There are those who say they are absolutely horrible in the rain or snow and others that haven't had a problem. My only issue with the KO2's have been cupping which is causing excessive road noise. Their performance on road, off road, in the wet and in the limited amount of snow I've driven through has been just fine.

Agreed. The ko2s do fine. The understeer I only noticed at really slow speeds in 2WD. Switching to 4A seemed to get rid of that problem entirely.

You'll be fine with that rubber. Have her practice common sense driving; "reduce following distance and speed; in ice and snow, take it slow" (unless offroading !). =)

I think you mean increase following distance

Don't air down for snow - makes the tire float. Tall, narrow tires are best for snow because they can cut down through the snow to the pavement surface. What works for sand is wrong for snow.

Just had 18 inches in Colorado to drive my Raptor through. I find the combination of the KO2's and chassis and stability control tuning to make it safe and predictable in the snow. If your wife is a reasonably competent driver, the bigger worry is the other guy.

Tahoe snow has nothing to do w/ NH snow/winter - totally apples to oranges, you can run mudder tires in Tahoe if ya wanted constant dry snow like frozen fine sand. Different animal in NH & gets COLD

The KO2s are not gonna be great but not terrible either. I’d keep em @ stock pressure 35ish- personally swapped over to Nokian snows for this winter & I live in MA

The BFGs are ok while it’s cominh down & fresh but not good once things get slushy/below 25/and icy
