King shocks are huge with the Jeep folks. I don't think they market as much to the Raptor folks. If it is like many other things these products are very similar. Whatever you spend your money on will most likely be the BEST in your mind. Hence some of the silly comments on this thread. The argument that this race group uses (X) suspension system so it is best is exactly why (X) sponsors that race group and is a foolish supposition as it is purely a marketing ploy used by many many companies. I expect if you purchased Fox or King you would be most pleased either way.

Ok ok ok I had a feeling this was going to start some arguments. That's not what I intended. I had heard that kings were the king of off road but I wondered how they felt on road compared to stock. And if fox/icon/king were built and performed any different due to design. But it looks like I should be happy with any that I choose. Now no more arguing. Opinions are like well you know the rest thanks for the input fellas !!

The king coilovers have the narrowest performance envelope as they are strictly a velocity sensitive shock.
They can be valved for a comfy street ride, or for high speed desert banging. Any attempt to get both when valving them is a major compromise to both.

When it comes to bypasses, they're all pretty much the same. Coilovers is where the differences are on 3.0 replacements for the raptor.

I've owned all three brands.

I'd have to agree that it's a marketing thing. Fox and Icon are a lot more vocal and sponsor a lot more FRF events.

FYI I run Kings on my Raptor and love them.

I hate compromise when I'm spending $$$$$$$$$$$$

I hear you. The problem is you must take the advice you receive here with a very small grain of salt. Good advice but most folks will tend to feel what they bought is the best.... Period. It's only human nature. Just like asking which oil is best or exhaust or tune and so on and so on. There are three outstanding choices you have and any of them should satisfy you. If you had the opportunity to ride in three different trucks set up with three different suspension systems I expect you could not notice hardly if any difference between them. Get what you feel will satisfy you best. More important is who you purchase from. Choosing the right vendor, and we have some good ones, will most likely end up being as important or even more so than the system you choose. Good luck.

But actually drive each for a week or two and the differences are dramatic.
