I had planned on putting my stock door handles back on my truck this weekend, glad I came across this. Every time I see the keypad at night it bugs me as well. I'm glad to see you can use a typical 5mm LED and I have few of them laying around in all colors. Also 3mm, just in case it fits better.

Sorta related, has anyone else noticed the key pad stays illuminated for a good long while after you exit the truck and do not lock it?

FYI my 2010 keypad has 5 individual SMD LEDs on there, no fiber optic like I hoped. About to see if and how I can fit some 3mm LEDs in there, time will tell.

Mm good to know cause I have a 2010 and wanted to do this. Let me know what you come up with I definitely wanna change mine to white!

Same here, white but I've been prying and trying, can get board loose from housing...
