K02's or KM2's??? That's The Question.

The more siping, the better the tire will be in snow/rain/ice. The KM2s, and most mud terrains, don't have much siping at all. If you spend most of your time in the sand, mud, etc..then the mud terrains might work for you. I drive mine daily, and need something for any situation, that can be equally as good off road. The KO2s work perfectly for me. They don't clean as well in mud, but that's to be expected from an AT.

Taxman hit the nail on the head. I too have ran the KM2's and they are truly bad ass off road and on anything other than snow and ice. I too really like the look of them the best.

I guess it boils down to what kind of environments you will see most often though. I live where we see on average 120" of snow each year. Most guys will run a MT on in the snowless months and a AT for the winter. Being from Texas I am guessing snow isn't a major concern. I vote for the KM2's. When I have some spare coin not going to other things on my wish list I will absolutely be getting a set for the summer months. As of now I have the Durtracs and couldn't be happier.

I tried sipping a set I had on my wrangler at the time with some improvement in the snow but that damn thing would spin like a top regardless of what tires I would put on it. I did mange too to blow apart the rear end dumping the clutch in a mud pit with the KM2's. They hooked up, posi-trac kicked in and that's all she wrote. They would grab and walk through anything. Great tires for what they are designed for.

^^^ Yeah. I really loved my KM2s on my Jeeps. They are really bad-ass tires. For the limited amount of snow we get here in Raleigh, NC, they should be fine. However, I had my Jeep with 35" KM2s on it when we lived in Toronto for 2 years and it was brutal driving around town. Lots of fun in empty parking lots doing donuts, but when you need to get your daughter to school, it was interesting getting out of the school parking lot without making a fool of yourself. I would use 4WD almost all the time. My wife's Jeep had 35" KOs and she would drive everywhere in 2WD on snowy/icy roads just fine.

Taxman has it... They are badass in deep snow and mud but light snow look out... I bought a new set of KM2's for last years snoball pre run and dam near crashed my truck 3 times because of light snow. 5 trucks pulled up into BWW's for lunch we all wanted to back in to park, I had to put my truck in 4wd to move! I was so disappointed after spending 1400 on the tires. So, I bought a tire siping tool, did all my tires the day i got back and went to the snoball hoping that it was drive-able next week at the event. Sure enough it was fantastic after the siping!!!

What tire did you run at Snoball this year? What did you think of them?

My 2% ....
I've run the Km2 in 2 snoballs and got lodged only once on Dishno after dark. needed a light tug. Thanks night raptor. Keep in mind had a p/s pump failure too. The other time Big blue got to do it 2 yrs ago. He was on it so quick I didn't get a chance for self recovery. somehow the trails seem narrower for me?lol. I think any tire will/could be slippery in icy conditions. On my second set now and primarily just dedicate these tires for my off-road stuff now. Run some wild peaks for most of the everyday terrain. I really like the km2 in all conditions and would run them all the time if havoc and trr weren't or I wasn't so hard on em. They are pricey and trying to make em last and attack the off road stuff with some advantage. With all this said I haven't ran the all terrains at all. But seems everyone has great experiences with them also. Really tried to hold out for the speculated km3 sipping and new sidewall but bfg is still holding out since freaking April. Anyways......proceed

I ran the KM2's the same ones I had at last years snoball and they are fantastic as long as they are siped but uncut tehy totally suck in light snow
