Agreed. But that peanut buttery color is the moisture, and that is no bueno.

I just installed mine last week, city driving, cold morning starts and idle time from remote starts. 10 minutes to work, One road trip in there of 165 miles. I figured somewhere around 250 miles plus all the idling time. It's been real cold up here.

I don't care what anybody says. This thing works! It's about 35 % full , We have e10 and 1/2 of the tank I ran through it was e10. I just found a place that sells NON ethanol 91 year round so my tank is now full of that.( SORRY @Wilson) I love my JLT!

Oil is AMSOIL SIGNATURE SERIES

I use e-30 it's not the same. what dose an oil catch can have to do with gas? and let me know what it look's like with the same amount of miles with that other gas. thanks

I thought I would see if there is any difference in the tanks of gas due to ethanol cooling the combustion chambers a bit more than regular fuel , and that combined with cold temps over the long idling times might increase the amount of CRUD caught by the JLT . I'm just keeping track of what comes out just to see. The first batch really had a strong fuel smell to it . Nothing scientific here just watching and observing.

So it's been a few thousand miles since I installed my oil separator. Just like everybody else, it's caught a hefty amount of black oil that otherwise would've made its way back around. I consider this a solid investment.

Just checked mine. After about 2,000 miles, the thing was almost full of milky looking oil with a small amount of sludge in the bottom. I'm not an engine mechanic but I'm glad that shit isn't going back in!

Sludge? What oil are you running?
