if you dont you will just hear amplified fake engine noise thru that sub. some people like. i have full JL setup and that exact sub can tell you my experiance the engine noise sound thru sub was horrible imo. if you go with it just try it, if you dont like it its easy to turn off

Yes I turned off the fake engine noise, but I had another problem with the JL Audio FIX 86 also, I'm having to switch it out for PAC PRO 4

whats your fix86 issue ? it only has so many channels is only issue i know of.

the speakers will just cut out for no reason and the center dash speaker will start playing? then it just goes away? I'm having a different stereo shop install the PAC Pro 4 at the head unit and remove the FIX 86, they say that it works better and the sound is cleaner.

hmm. i dont have the front dash oem speaker not enough channels off fix . no sound issue booming. the fix does need an external 5v accessory pwr maybe they forgot that part on yours. its so the sony system needs that

I don't know? they tell me they what they are doing but it doesn't seem like it.

They also didn't do somethings that i asked them to do, so I am using a different shop now.

How do you turn off the fake engine noise?? A way to do it without voiding warranty?

I ******* hate when manufacturers use this approach. As someone who has now owned a 2013 BMW M5 and the new Raptor, stupid in both cases.

I ******* hate when manufacturers use this approach. As someone who has now owned a 2013 BMW M5 and the new Raptor, stupid in both cases.

I had the dealer turn it off and it wont void your warranty.

You can also turn it off with Forscan but I'm not a fan of that and the dealer can detect if you have used it, just not worth it to me.

Did you need to turn off your Fake Engine Noise ?

Yes I turned off the engine noise using Forscan. It was pretty simple and there are other threads that talk about how to use that tool in detail.

Take it to the dealer. That's what I did. Most dealer won't know what you are talking about
