josh, still havent figured out the alarm yet, huh? did the info i give you help at all?

Nah, he hasn't come up with anything yet. Could always just install a full alarm but I'd just like to use that GPS/Cell unit to activate the factory Autostart if possible. Oh and yes, that list you sent me will proove helpful if I decide to go with a full alarm, Thanks Noah!

Hey Windspeed77, where did you get your Viper alarm installed? I'm thinking about getting one. What was the cost?

A place called alpha tint in the city of Stanton. I got the tint and the Viper 350 alarm with LCD key fob, glass shatter sensers, and a proximately sensor. The alarm retails for $300-$400. The alarm range is about 1/4miles. Viper makes a 450 but its about 150 more than I wanted to spend. Ill post picks this weekend when I stop working....hahaha

This guy posted his review on the 350 which was very helpful in my decision making..

Thanks and back at ya! Out of curiosity, what features does the viper alarm have? And yeah im either going to do the Stage 3 at home or I have a buddy who has a lift at his shop that I might go borrow. Just not sure if the truck is too wide for his lift lol. I'll also be doing Mid-Perch at the same time.

The Viper has a 1/4 mile radius, optional remote start (which I didn't hook up b/c we have it stock), A 2 way LCD key fob allowing you to know when your vehicle is being messed with. I also added the glass shatter sensor, and proximity sensor.

The alarm will arm itself via its own key fab and lock/unlock doors. If you want to use the remote start you have to unarm the Viper then do the standard factory sequence for remote start.....

all in all im impressed with the install and system...lets up its never fully tested!

this is where i got a lot of my info.....

@Windspeed77, Thanks for the alarm info! I'm looking at going with the autopage C3 line but my issue is I want to be able to use the factory remote start with an aftermarket alarm KeyFob or my iphone via the C3 Hybrid GPS/Cellular connection. I'd rather avoid installing a new autostart module if the truck already has one, just gotta figure out how to activate it!

ok josh, i need to know what the sequence is for remote start on your truck. also if there is a way to make it work, it will most likely require an extra key fob.

Apparently I tore ass out of the dealer's lot too fast and they forgot to give me the SD card... I called em Monday and he said they dropped it in the mail. I'm hoping I get it today so I can have it ready for this weekend! When I do I'll post up some pics of the nav.

The button press sequence on the keyfob? It's "lock, start, start". The start button actually says 2x on it I just didn't wanna confuse anyone.

you will need another key fob, a tr7, and some relays. to make it work (if it works). basically you need to program the tr7 to pulse the relays in sequence. the relays are wired to the key fob, so when triggered it reacts the same way as physically pushing the button on the remote. a bit complicated but i think it will work.
