any thought about the remote start yet?

No, I've been leaving it up to to my alarm buddy to see if he can figure anything out but alas he hasn't... There's gotta be a module that can simulate the RFID the key generates...

mimicking the rfid is not the problem. its the type of signal used when the buttons get pushed on the remote, thats the problem. dei has nothing available, nor do the plan on making something to adapt to it. they just told me that maybe when their engineers get bored down the line, they might fiddle with it. but they did tell me about the extra key fob setup that i mentioned

That's what I meant is basically replicating that signal to initiate the autostart is what we need to figure out. I still can't wrap my head around how you would use relays to copy button presses though... ughh

if you were to open up your remote you would see 2contacts about 2 or3mm apart. when the buttons get pushed the two contacts become connected. and break contact when let go. basically its whats called a normally open circuit. you would solder wires onto each contact that goes to a relay so when the relay gets triggered it connects those 2contacts together and opens again. a tr7 is a universal timer that can be prorgammed to trigger the relays in sequence so it can mimick the timimg on the button presses. it also has 2inputs and 2 outputs so it can be done with one unit........ i think

Hmm that might be an option, I wonder how much a new key would run me. And I wonder if they would give me a key fob coded to my autostart without actually cutting the key so in case some one found it in the dash they couldn't start the engine.

unfortunately a new key probably costs over $200 but the key shoud be burried far up under the dash so it cant be visible. and you can always cut the metal key insert off so it wont turn in the ignition.
