question josh,...... why is it still clean???

Because I've been working all week and have no nearby deserts. HOWEVER, the vegas trip this weekend may lead to a wee bit of offroading... :laughing1:

What percentage tint did you get on it? Any recommendations for a tinting place near San Diego?

The back is limo, and the front is 20% even though here in Cali ANY tint is illegal from what I've seen. Just crossing my fingers that the cops like the truck so much they ignore the tint.

Yeah that's the other reason it's still clean, but from what I gather engines these days don't require much in the way of a "break-in" but I'll probably take it easy at LEAST until the way home from Vegas. I'll be over the 500 mile mark then.

fyi on tint. in california, as long as you have 2 mirrors (left and right) youcan tint anything behind the driver and can be as dark as you want. however the front windows are not allowed to be tinted aftermarket. state law allows a tint to the front windows no darker than 70%. basically the windows need to allow 70% of light through. most vehicle manufacturers already pretint the glass to these standards, so ANYTHING on the front windows is in fact illegal. you can get away with a 50% film, but anything darker will probably get you pulled over, especially if its a dark vehicle.

with a 20% josh, you might be a victim of a lame law. but if you need to remove let me know. i can tell you how (if needed)

i have only had 1 person come back to our shop to remove the 50% tint on the front windows since we have been tinting. it was because the guy said he was doing 30 over speed limit. the cop was nice and let him off the speeding but wrote him up for the fix it ticket instead.

HEAR THAT JOSH? dont give the cop a reason to pull you over, otherwise you might get hassled for the window tint....... but a fix it ticket is always better than a speeding ticket
