good call on the dyno runs........ a dyno sho available close by?

Nah, not real dynos lol just using the Dyno utility built into the Livewire to see if IT can see a difference. And hey, the money I would spend on dynoing it will be better served for MOAR MODS! Hmmm, 40" RIGID behind the grill?

Looking at the Livewire myself from 5star to use instead of the SCT...

Let us know how you like the Tunes and the Livewire interface?

I think you get 6 tunes on the live wire vs. 3 tunes with the SCT?

Do you plan on doing any complete custom tuning?

Thanks,

Fred

The livewire is actually just another flavor of tuner from SCT. You do get 6 tunes from Mike@5-Star, however I've only used 4 so far, 87&91 Economy & Performance. I'd like to do a full custom tune down the road, but from what I've seen the tunes don't get much better than what Mikes already done. Why fix whats not broke? I'm curious to see how the livewires built in tunes are compared to Mike's... As far as the interface goes, at first it felt kind of slow and the screen didn't react to touch well but I grabbed some windex and a microfiber cloth and cleaned off the little bit of residue that was left over from the protective screen sticker and it made the touch sensitivity way better. I'd like to see the menus scroll a little smoother and faster but I guess thats due to the fact that I'm used to my iPhone 5's speed and clarity. In comparison, it's like looking back at the original iPhone. By no means am I saying it's bad, I'm just kind of spoiled lol.

Josh,

Thanks for the feedback...so there are 3 tunes from Mike and 3 tunes preloaded...i thought all tunes were 5 star, good to know...

Since it is not wireless, does the cord running to the OBD II port get in the way?

Is the scroll and speed issue that big of a problem, I am use to iPhones and iPads as well...

Thanks

There's actually preload's for a bunch of Ford vehicles (and I think one GM), and it allows for 10 total custom tunes, 6 of them are complimentary from Mike@5-Star (however I've only ordered 4 so far). SCT actually has a firmware upgrade utility for the livewire and as they release more tunes, you can update the unit and use it for other vehicles as well. I THINK though if you are going to use it for a different vehicle, you have to "un-marry" it from your Raptor first.

As far as the cord goes, I plugged it in to the ODB-II port and ran it back behind the panel under the steering wheel, up the left side of the dash and came through a seperation between the A-Pillar and dash and it looks nice and clean. I wound up the extra cable and zip tied it to some stock cabling under the dash so its not rattling around. I'll take some pics of how I ran it later and post em up! :waytogo:

The scroll and speed thing really is a "NON-issue" it's no big deal at all seeing as once you get it programmed and onto the display of your choosing, It works just great!
