I replace my own and have not had IWE issues... actual FORD part might be better but crazy easy install... just sayin'
I read what they say on amazon, so, it's written it can be better to make the switch with this part beforen to have some IWE issue, is it what you have done ? or , the grinding noise was already there and you replace check valve and solenoid ? For that price , I need this in my glovebox or just change it before it's too late. (I hava at time absolutly no issue with IWE) What do you think ?

I would not touch them until they make noise. My truck is 12 years old and has zero issues with the IWEs.

If it ain't broke...

This thread is so WTF. The TSB literally excludes raptors... JFC. :snoopfacepalm:
Thank you. I posted it to verify. I wanted to get more opinions. The dealer has been OK, but the dealer said Ford wouldn't cover it. That was a Lie.. Now I want it fixed right. This is just more ammo I can use. 95% of the customers wouldn't know the difference and they would just do the TSB. 75K truck and disable a part of it as a fix! not happening.

I agree that the fix shouldn't be to just disable something and saying it's fixed. That's an odd solution, especially from the dealership. I could see maybe out of warranty and a local shop saying hey save some money and just do this. The TSB said non raptor is what I thought also. I dont know the way all of this works but im curious why it matters if it's a raptor or not. Shocks maybe? Idk computer stuff with live valves ?

I have had no issues in 84,000 miles. Replaced the original check valve with the Ford blue one at about 35k and then the check and solenoid valve in the 70s. Since I was having no trouble with the FORD blue check valve and it was still holding pressure, threw it in the glove box for a spare. Was it necessary, no. For the money did I sleep better, of course. It's a 5 min install for both tops.

Ok boys, add me to the list of IWE issues, or maybe something else. Vegas guy here. My dealer has replaced the IWE's twice, both front wheel bearings and replaced the blue diaphragm...The issue is still there. Mine is noticed on the freeway at freeway speeds. They cant seen to find the issue. At this point im almost thinking its something else in the drivetrain, and It does go away when you put it in 4A or 4H. I requested a meeting with the Shop Manager, a Senior Tech and of course my advisor to come up with a game plan. This is getting old.

Raptors are slightly different so not included in TSB.

Also the IWE system could NOT get any simpler. The Gen 3 system is actually more complicated. Best I can tell FoMoCo has gotten tired of idiots and just said EPH-it disable the damn thing.

Vacuum, vacuum solenoid, vacuum lines, IWE. that is literally the entire system.

Seriously, you would spend less time AND money going to the parts store for tools/replacing all but the IWEs than a single trip to the $tealership. Then, IF you are HALF way mechanically inclined you could swap out both the IWEs in about the same time you would spend on a one day visit if you include travel both ways.

Seriously, it's SO cheap and takes less than 5 mins to swap out the check valve and solenoid!
