So I brought my 2020 to the dealer for front end noise and told them I think the IWE's were bad. Noise went away when shifting into 4AWD. I told them I don't want the TSB performed, I want the hubs replaced. When I called to see the progress he told they hear the noise and it is now fixed. Ended up they DID the TSB. I was not happy. I told them to put it back and that I wanted them replaced. They told me they can only do what Ford says they can do. So now I'm on the phone with Ford trying to get this done right. Have any of you went through this? Thanks

Someone tell me if this pertains to my Raptor! Because this is the TSB that the dealer said had to be done.

He’s right, under warranty, they’re limited to repairing the vehicle to the design configuration. UNLESS you pay them to do the aftermarket fix.
They’re not being alpha hotels, they really are trying to help. So long as they’re repairing to functional on all components, you’re good, plus the workmanship is warrantied for 12/12 independently from almost all dealers.

Use 4a more.
Worry less.

if it comes back after the warranty, revisit.

i had a 2018 5.0 with the IWE issue, basically ford got tired of replacing hubs over and over again so the new TSB was to disable the system. If you want them to pay for it you have to do what Ford says or pay for it out of your own pocket. After 3 sets of hubs I ended up putting the IWE delete kit on and it worked fine until i traded it in.

So hold up...

If they disable the IWE system, does that mean no more 4A?
no, it just means the hubs never unlock so engaging 2h won’t be as economical. You can still select 2h, 4a, etc.

The front wheels are spinning the front axles but not engaged at the front differential. So it is on 2wd. Just thought that this wasn’t supposed to be done on Raptors.
