This is a Quick and simple Test.
You will need one of these Vacuum Hand Pump and a pice of vacuum line the correct size. I have and old IWE line.
Start with either IWE. Remove the hose It is Here
After removing the line/hose use the vacuum pump to pull 20-25 InHg of vacuum.
Let this Sit 10 min I think a loss of 3-4 InHg a min is acceptable. If good plug the line/hose back in. repeat on the other side.
Lets say they are both bad. Lets check the lines. Place a golf T in the end of the line/hose instead of IWE.
Open the hood find this solenoid by the brake booster.
Remove the Line/hose I am pointing to.
Again pull 20-25 InHg of vacuum. With Golf T's in both sides instead of IWE there should be NO LOSS or minuscule loss.
If you checked your IWE they were Good and plugged the lines back in the Loss should not be more than 4-6 InHg per MIN and you should do 10 min.
If both IWE and the Lines/hoses are good. You have a problem with the solenoid or check valve.
Good luck. Harbor fright sells this Vacuum tool for 25 bucks.
