I wouldn’t be surprised if the next raptor would by hybrid and the raptor after that EV. V8’s and stick shifts in next 10 years will join the shelf’s at blockbusters stores :)

So the future is electric but electric will only displace V8s and manual transmissions?

Truckzor,
The electric motor does not need a transmission. 100% torque from 0 to 10,000+ rpm. One could have direct drive to all four wheels. The limiting factor is battery technology. Or until we perfect Nikola Tesla's wireless technology....

Yes, the electric motor also sounds better, has better throttle response, and lacks the boost lag and reliability issues of a TT V6.

#fakenews. Want to compare % increase of EV sales YoY compared to V8?

Focus shift?

Focus shift?

How so? You're implying V8's won't get displaced by EV because they are developing and selling more. How is it a focus shift when I use that same metric for EV? Sounds like you're realizing your argument is working against you.

I didn't think you'd want to make that comparison either. Try harder

Yes that is why so many manufacturers, more than ever before, are selling V8s and Ford is developing so many new ones.

Please enlighten us and name all of these new manufactures making V8s for the first time.

From what I see, manufacturers are shedding cylinders like they are going out of style. Ferrari, Lamborghini, BMW, Merceds, Aston Martin, etc are all dropping their N/A V12s and V10s in favor of smaller, lighter, more powerful, and more fuel efficient V8TTs. BMW and Audi dropped N/A V8s from their M3 and S4 lines in favor of 6 cylinder turbos. There are countless additional examples of other manufactures downsizing their highest performance vehicles. But yeah, other than all of those countless examples, everyone is upsizing displacement and cylinder counts.

Try again.

Name all the manufacturers who offer a V8. Then name all of them who don't.
