14 pages of retards talking like retards.......
Here is the bottom line.
I don’t care if an engine is a 2 cylinder if it’s got great performance and reliability.
You can not argue one simple fact.... even if you upgrade the turbo in the ecoboost raptor to the point that it almost grenades.... you still can’t get to the wheel horsepower If a hellcat with a factory warranty.
Then... if you want to play the tuning game...: you’re looking at 650+ wheel horsepower even with drivetrain loss.
That’s one heck of a power plant. The ecoboost is not in the same league yet.
I’ll gladly melt the tires on my way to Starbucks in my hellcat TRX.
Is your truck for sale now in preparation for buying this? This hellcat truck will destroy the raptor if ford leaves it alone. They can't get to the hellcat level without getting back to a v8.
Do you see all those guys abandoning their Mustangs, Corvettes, Camaros, and Porsches for the Hellcat and Demon? Yeah, me neither.
Just like the Hellcat/Demon, the TRX will be a one-trick-pony and it will never be a serious sales threat to the Raptor. No doubt it will peel off people like you that are only interested in making V8 noise and doing burnouts. But people who want performance will stick with the Raptor. Just like how most Mustang, Corvette, Camaro, and Porsche owners have zero interest in abandoning their performance cars for the very compromised Hellcat/Demon.
That said, the TRX is the perfect truck for you and I'm sure you'll be thrilled with all it has to offer.
I am not a fan of Dodge. And their quality is questionable, at best, but you're delusional if you think a Ram can't be made to keep up with a Raptor off road. We don't know yet if they plan to make this a Rebel with a hellcat motor or if it's going to be a Ram Runner with a hellcat motor, but if it's the latter, it will be a beast both on and off road.
Hopefully Ford will get off their ass and link the rear like Dodge one of these days. We all know deep down inside that leaf springs are for poor people.
FCA is so strapped for cash the only thing they can do is slap superchargers on outdated chassis. (They contemplated selling Jeep to the Chinese to raise much needed cash)
If they had the money to invest in R&D, they would have made a more respectable competitor to the Mustang and Camaro. But they don't. Horsepower is cheap and the only card they could play. And I admit they did a brilliant job making a 20 year old chassis desirable again. But it is still a one-trick-pony.
Without a doubt they could put a lot of engineering resources into making a true Raptor competitor, but that wouldn't be the FCA way. There is a reason why they have always lagged behind Ford and GM.
I can't really disagree with your assessment of Dodge. They definitely aren't going to go through all the development work Ford did with the Raptor (born in baja and all that) so it's a given that the truck won't be as refined.
However, you should take a look at the videos of the old Ram Runner. It was a pretty capable truck off road. With some big shocks and a little more travel pretty much anything can be made fast.
