Trying to understand how the speaker wiring is tied in when using the Nav-TV. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Use speaker harnesses on front/ rear doors to connect to factory wiring. (Metra 72-5602)

Am I tapping into factory speaker wiring at the b&o amp connector using Nav-TV instructions listing wire colors. (Right front +/- Left front +/- Right rear +/- Left rear +/-) then connect to aftermarket amp speaker output?

Then mount crossover near amp and run wire to the new tweeter at pillar.

The Nav TV never plugs back into the speaker wire harnes. They give you the colors to help you.

You tie your new aftermarket amp into those wires.

Nav TV > AMP > speakers

you can use the factory wires for both doors. Most of us, put a coax in the rear door, and components up front. So using the factory wires for the coax in the rear, and the woofers in the front, you will have to run new wires for the tweeters in the A-Pillars. There are no wires at the back B&O amp location for the tweeters.

The stock tweeters get power from up front by the head unit. When you remove the stock tweeters, just leave their wires disconnected.

Also, most of us do not run a center channel. It is not needed when you have properly imaged aftermarket amp and speakers.

Are you running speaker wire from the crossover to the mid-range speaker or tapping into the b&o plug?

amp to crossover (in mounted by the amp) mid for crossover goes to factory harness to front doors......ran new speaker wire to tweeters in the A pillars

getting new speaker wire into the door without it looking like a hack job is extremely difficult. one guy on here ever had to remove his entire door (all 4) and still couldnt use the factory wire loom.

I just sold my Gen1 and bought a 2020 Gen 2. In my Gen 1, I was able to simply replace the Sony sub and add a amp and 10" sub. It was super easy. I was hoping to to the same the new B&O system....but it sounds like I have to do a little more work. I really only want to add some more bass like GCATX wanted to do. I might have to do a mixture of Oldfarts and this system. I am not too much of a wood worker, I'll have to look for a prefabbed box. I would rather have the subs behind the seat, but I could do under the seat too. The speakers would have to be down firing. I sometimes have my dogs in the back (with the seats up) and they would destroy up facing speakers. I looked on Crutchfield for boxes and they are very proud of those ($$$).

B&O complicated the upgrade for us all, but the reality is that even though you could just tap the speakers for sub input on the sony system, it was just as poor performing as the stock b&o, muddy, imprecise and underpowered. I ended up spending about as much as the b&o guys to get the former sony system replaced; the only place I saved was having the RF DSR1 as opposed to the zen(?) for the b&o. DSR1 is definitely less expensive.

I would rather have the subs behind the seat, but I could do under the seat too.

What’s cheap these days? Been to NYC lately? A sandwich in a deli is fifteen bucks. Can of soda two-fitty. Cup of coffee, two-fitty. It’s absurd.
