I feel your frustration and believe me, I’ve heard that a lot with Hellcat owners too. As much as I hate to, something I’ve come to accept is that no matter the cost, at the end of the day, it’s a mass produced vehicle so quality control tends to go out the door.

I bet even the new GT500, Ram TRX, Bronco, C8 Corvette, and even the engine that’s hand built car, Nissan GTR, have their own known issues.

ummm....I’d pit many “mass produced” vehicles against the likes of mclaren/Lamborghini/Aston/Range Rover etc. when it comes to quality/reliability/durability/longevity all day every day & 4x on Sunday

I think what you mean to say is- at the end of the day it’s a piece of machinery & there’s no such thing as “perfect”- not at any price.

All I can say for mine (its in the shop now) is I had complete power loss at about 16k.

Noticed the rattle last summer on startup and it was intermittent up until now. Some starts were really bad. Between when I first noticed it and now, I had two separate incidents where the CEL came on while driving, and the truck went into limp mode, but not sure if its related or not. Both times the issue was resolved with pulling over and restarting the truck.

Either way, who knows what happens when its not addressed, but its still not good and not OK for a 70k truck. At a minimum Ford should be extending power train warranties for this issue. I couldn't imagine going past the 3/36 and having them fail again...

My 2017 had the rattle for a very long time. I did not care either. Then one day when trying to accelerate quickly the truck bogged down like there was no power for 1-2 seconds. Then it would be normal again. This happened 3-4 times before I took in in for repair (Cam Phasers). Don't need to be pulling into traffic and not have any power.

Sent mine in three weeks ago due to driving and loss of power. It had been making the rattling noise for about a month. Was told they would be replacing the cam shaft.

My 2018 started rattling at 36k miles. Every other cold start it would rattle, no other issues but i hated the sound. Took it to a reputable ford dealer and had it done in a couple of days. So far so good

I ordered my 2017 SCAB and took delivery in March 2017. Now have 52k miles and 100k extended warranty. I'm had a 2-3 sec rattle almost from day 1 and the engine has always run great. No issues, no CEL, nothing but a 2-3 sec rattle. It doesn't have to really cool off much to do the rattle either. Just let it set for a few minutes and it will make the same noise. Sounds about like a diesel at idle to me. I'm not at all clear on whether it's cam phasors or waste gate I'm hearing.

I've been conflicted about taking it to the dealer for a repair. Like some some others here, I worry the repair will leave me with some other problem that could be worse or at least another aggravation.

I have a video that very clearly depicts the cam phaser rattle on my last truck.

I can't figure out how to upload it, though.
