Good idea! Who knows if dealers will be as necessary with the new shocks though I guess we will find out eventually

I had a Grey 2018 with it and traded it in for a Race Red 18 without it, but with the better wheel package. It was nice, but not a must have for me. The must haves are the wheels, the full moon roof, bed liner and extender, and the level 2 pkg. I like the leather wrapped shifter over the Carbon Pkg also.

i have an 18 and Ford's LKAS is a complete joke. Its dangerous, its adaptiveness and control is very binary and not smooth. I typically have it turned off. DO NOT RELY ON IT.

My wife's Acura and my other Toyota's LKAS is light years beyond Fords.

Adaptive cruise is awesome imo. The braking system in the adaptive cruise is a little slow but in light traffic, it works great on long trips. Lane keeping is OK on those long drives to remind you that you’re tired and need a 4th cup of coffee lol otherwise it is annoying, especially to your passengers I’ve found.

Adaptive cruise is great. One caveat - it brakes WAY harder than a human would if traffic is slowing considerably in front of you. So hard I've had people almost rear end me...it's better for you to hit the brakes yourself if you notice traffic slowing.

Even at the closest distance it leaves enough space for people to cut in front of you, which they will do, which leads the truck to brake...you get the picture. Great for light traffic though.

Not picking on you but you said you love the radar-cruise-control feature then describe exactly why it sucks.

I've a pet peeve with people on an interstate that cannot keep a steady pace. Morons everywhere who travel from 65 to 75 and back and forth between the speeds. I want to get past them not have my truck hit the brakes then accelerate again, and again and again. Allow those fools to make my truck drive like they were behind the wheel? No thanks!

Adaptive cruise is excellent, it makes driving in traffic - or just in general - much more bearable. The braking characteristics vary depending on distance setting - if you use the closest distance, the truck will basically tailgate, and braking will be very sharp in response. If you use the maximum distance setting, it will be pretty smooth and gradual. The manual language:



I generally prefer settings 3 or 4. Enough distance to avoid tire sling, as well as smooth braking. 3 is a little less gradual than I like, and 4 sometimes will lose the car, especially on sharp turns. Still, way less of a nuisance than constantly adjusting cruise because other people can't drive.

Lane keeping is also good. The width of the Raptor means the assist function will work constantly, but if that bothers you it can be reduced to 'warning only' which is a lot more lax. I usually leave assist on tho.

The wipers are the only thing I'm not in love with. Provided the sensor area is clean and you don't use Rain-x or equivalents, it does a pretty good job. Otherwise, it acts at 5-10x the speed it ought to. Just don't put rain repellent on the windshield, and keep the sensor area clean, and they'll do fine.

No, for the automatic rain sensors, a bunch of sensors in my bumpers and elsewhere and adaptive cc, I wouldn't pay an extra 1600 or so it costs. I like my normal cruise control and I like my wipers with manual control and I don't want to mess with the electrical If I change my bumpers or some other part on the truck.

And I would argue I have more situational awareness in my truck than you do yours, because I can focus on hazards/changing conditions since I'm not have to adjust for the car in front of me, or worry about following the lay of the road so closely.

Driving in DFW traffic is so much nicer with the ACC and lane keeping. You can focus on watching the morons around you and trust the truck to help you out, rather than having to constantly react to imbeciles jumping out in front of you.

My personal opinion is that people get more sloppy as a driver the more gadgets they start to rely on.

Now enter ACC, texting, a cup of Starsucks, staring out the windshield on autopilot daydreaming, instead of operating a potential two ton piece of machinery/weapon. People don't take driving seriously enough in my book.
