When I go to the gym I leave my wallet and keys inside door pocket. I lock the doors with the two lower buttons on keypad. Today (and once before I now realize), I can just open the door as if the key is in my pocket. Is that how it is supposed to work? Me thinks not. It can’t seem to tell the key is inside and not on me.

My understanding is that using the outside keypad to lock the truck should need the keypad to unlock...

Try with the fob in the center console so the truck knows they're inside the vehicle instead of thinking they're outside.

So, there’s a really long thread about a guy who bought his Rap and had it stolen right outside San Antonio at a hotel on the way back. Thieves got into the door lock in like 20 seconds, opened the truck and ... Voila, found his spare key left in the truck with the new purchase paperwork and the alarm never even triggered.

don’t leave your keys in the truck. But keep going to the gym :)

Appreciate the advice and replies. I admit to being really out there, weird, couple plates short of a picnic, but my car/truck getting stolen has never been a worry of mine. I wouldn’t be upset. Time for a brand new one if that were to happen.

Note, only reason for not taking key in gym is I lock my wallet in truck so it’s not stolen from locker in gym. Rare happening but it’s happened. Figure if key is in locker, fairly easy to find only Raptor in lot.

So let me get this straight....You think that the truck should know the difference between the key being in your pocket vs being only a few inches away in the door pocket? I can't believe this is a real thread. When the key is close to the door handle the door will open...simple as that. You can't leave your keys in your truck...nor should you for any reason. I think technology has surpassed some people's ability to use it...LOL
