You're saying that Ford and the dealer you work for will allow salesmen to buy trucks for themselves before their customers? Not only that, but that Ford will push their salesmen's trucks ahead of other customers?

Quality stuff there.

Ha, I went into a dealer back in July, Sales lady flat out told me all their allocations are going to the owner and his friends and they aren't taking any orders.

Did you forget about my request for you to ignore my posts?

Seriously all you do is **** and moan about anything and everything a car dealer does.

First off we had a list of potential buyers for Raptors. Stating at the first customer who inquired I went down that list one by one. I explained to them what the truck was going to be and offered each customer a chance to order their Raptor... just the way they wanted it.... choose the options..... pay MSRP..... and not even put down a deposit (except for the one that was a distance away). I even gave them a couple days to decide. Once I was through that list I only wrote one order. At that point I went to the owner and asked about ordering one for myself. Within the next couple of weeks two of the people on the list did end up ordering trucks which they don't want to take delivery of until next year.

So that's a big ol NO, we don't put our employees ahead of our customers.

In fact my best friend had come to me about a GT350 before they came out in 2016. I already had one person on the list ahead of him. We ended up only getting allocation for one car, which the first guy on the list took and my buddy had to go buy one somewhere else. Oh yeah and that first guy wasn't an employee, friend of the owner, relative of an employee or anything. In fact he was an out of state customer.

So now go ahead and tell me how our system is so wrong and that we're ******** everyone just because we're a car dealer and that's all we know how to do.

Seriously just ignore by posts because...

That is flat just MESSED UP! I hope their trucks take a long while to build. Hopefully they get lost in the system a few times.

I guess I hit a nerve. Good to know that the truck isn't as popular as it seems. Hopefully when Ford realizes that their dealers are having trouble selling them they'll start offering discounts.

So this would mean any dealer that took and order for a 17 raptor above the allocations they were given needs to refund the customer immediately bc they cannot deliver a 17 raptor since they sold their current allocations out and can only deliver an 18.

I know there are lots of dealers who sold their allocations and then accepted more deposits planning to get more 17 allocations soonish.

What I can tell you is that I've been asking our Ford rep every couple of weeks if there is going to be any more Raptor allocation for 2017. He answer is pretty much the same every time... that we were given the years allocation at the start and there won't be any more.

Each dealer handles it differently. Here I have a list that we keep of customers interested in buying any specialty vehicle. Raptor, Focus RS, GT350, GT, etc.. The customers contact info and date they inquired goes on that list. As we get info of availability for the item they are interested we give them a call with a run down of details. Once we write orders for all of our allocation for that vehicle we will still put people on the list. But we don't write an order and we do let them know there is a good chance we won't be able to get them a vehicle.

If something comes up where a buyer backs out or we some how get another unit we start down that list again.

We just had a situation where a customer on an incoming GT350 backed out so we started with the next person on the list and sold the car.

Damn. Yeah I am trying to tell if my dealer is pulling my leg on when mine (3rd in line out of 4) will get scheduled. 1st one got scheduled quickly, and I can see it as dealer ordered on fords website. However he said the 2nd one has now already been scheduled (in Oct) and mine should get scheduled November/December.

Also, thanks for all the info you've been providing since back in July! it's been really helpful during this mess of ordering process.

It's hard to determine when you're unit will get scheduled. There are so many factors that come in to play with that. Just general rule of thumb you'd have to think being 3rd of 4 that it would be 3/4 of the way through the model year. That would put the truck spring time of next year possibly. Now what may help get that truck sooner is the fact that F150 sales have slowed down. So if Ford has the supplies to build Raptors and they are retail orders they will build them sooner than stock 150's

You're quite welcome btw.

So if you ordered in July and are 15 of 15 allocations at a big dealer you might get your truck after someone who orders in December as position 2/3 allocations? I'd think order date would come into play and I still don't understand how priority codes are being utilized by Ford in general and Ford when choosing which allocation to fill at a particular dealer.

My dealer said they are first come first serve and everyone (supposedly) is getting Priority code 13 on their 9 raptor orders. I'm order 8 of 9 on their list, but how does Ford prioritize who is pulled in that situation. If I have to way 8/9ths of the 2017 production run, then I'd rather cancel my order and put a down payment now on a 2018 and be first in line.

If the dealer in deed did put the same priority code on each truck then Ford will randomly pull them based on compatibility. So if it was that dealers turn to get a truck built and say the bead lock wheels were a limited commodity that week. Then ford would take one of the trucks without the wheels. If there weren't any commodity restrictions they'd just pull a unit.

Priority codes just control each dealers order bank. So say a 15 at one dealer will be different than 15 at another dealer.

Normally you would put the first order with the lowest priority and the second order with the next priority and so on. That way barring any commodity restrictions the orders would get pulled in the order they were placed.

I'm not exactly sure how they work with order dates affecting who gets vehicles first. I'll see if I can get an answer about that from Ford.

If i can grab a 2017 that would be great. I'm willing to take delivery Spring 2017. IF i have to wait until Summer I'd just wait for a 2018.

Time to start making some calls in TN, AL and GA.
