... basically, i blame ford. i guess GM and Nissan actually want to move their vehicles.

Nah... it's not Ford's fault that some of their dealers are greedy. I mean, I suppose that if they (Ford) wanted to crack the whip, they could tell their dealers that anyone charging "market adjustment" won't get any more trucks, but the long and short of it is that it looks like the market is (by and large) willing to bear the cost.

From the dealers' perspective, they're trying to make hay while the sun shines... again, I get it, but at the same time, I am unwilling to be one of those who supports the practice. It's economics in action... and while I want a '17 Raptor in a big way, it looks like I'm either going to have to be patient or pay the impatience tax.

yeah i hear you. but i honestly think that some of the other brands have actually "cracked the whip" and its just Ford that hasn't. so that is why i blame Ford, not the dealers (although i do think there are far less good, honest ford dealers than with the other makes).

the chevy dealer that had the Z06 dealer for sticker is a shady dealer and 5 years ago would have had that thing for 20 grand over.

i'm just starting to get tired of this. i just want a great, easy buying experience at sticker or less and i'm sick of the ford dealers around here jerking everyone around constantly. shoot, if nissan builds the warrior, i may leave ford for good :).

yeah i'm sure there are plenty available at rip-off prices. i've pretty much given up trying to find an allocation for sticker because texas ford stealerships all suck and i'm just gonna wait to see a few on the lots and watch them sit for awhile and then attempt to re-negotiate.

i'm banking on the fact that, like almost every other ford product, they won't be nearly as "hot" as ford dealers want you to believe and by the time they sit for awhile the prices will come down or they will learn from this year and sell them at normal prices next year.

so far i have found both a Z06 and a GT-R for sale at sticker, which means that buying a raptor for over sticker is simply idiocy. basically, i blame ford. i guess GM and Nissan actually want to move their vehicles.

Local dealer to me has a z06 w 3lz and z07 for 20k plus under. 83,6xx offf of 106,000 msrp

Sounds like I need to start making some calls and see whats available.

I could wait for 2018 if I had to.

Keep in mind that you probably won't get one until January or February even if you ordered today.

There are defiantly lots of allocations still in the Midwest.

I have heard conflicting things on if there will be another batch of allocations for 2017 model. My dealer said yes in early 2017 but others say this is the only batch.

Anyone know if order priority is rated higher on order date or allocation number at a particular dealer? For example I am 8 of 9 with priority 13 at my dealer but could switch dealers now (two weeks later) and be 3 of 5 with maybe a higher priority code. Not going to do this but just curious. Figure I'm waiting until at least feb regardless

its not to late. i just ordered a couple weeks ago. it took some calling around but i found a dealer 30 minutes from me that had 1 allocation left of their 3. they were pushing for 5k over but i ended up getting if for msrp (pretty sad that feels like a deal)
in my opinion i feel everything will start moving a little faster in the next month or so. everyone at this point waited 3 months+ but thats because the trucks were not in production yet.
i contacted maybe 5-6 dealers and had a couple call backs, there was 1 in NY that wanted 5k over aswel and sounded pretty disappointed when they called back and i told them i found one local at msrp, you may be able to talk them out of it.

Same situation as some....10+ dealers and only one at MSRP and couldn't get a straight answer on allocations available. I'm assuming they took orders for about 10-15 over their allocation. I'd order today, hell I would've ordered 45 days ago but I'm not paying over MSRP and I'm not interested in paying MSRP today (at the one dealer) for a truck I might not receive in late '17 or '18 I could get for less when the initial hype lessens.

Never had so much trouble spending $70k in my life ;)

That's why I'm waiting. There's no reason I can't get a Gen2 at invoice. Besides, I already have a Raptor, no rush here.

yeah 5K over is the best i've found so far, and one was talked down from 10K. the other refused to budge and the sales guy was a complete jerk.
