Is icing on the headlights an issue?

In sleet/freezing rain mine have iced up. Had to pull over and clear them.

This pic is from my 2018's first good size snow in early 2019, you can see the headlights stayed clear, but I did have to stop a few times to shove the snow off the hood as it was piling up so high as to impede vision outside. I didn't have any problems with the windshield or lights, just had the defroster on high.
One thing I have noticed though, it is easier to keep the lights on whenever driving in conditions that could cause the lights to ice over, even my old Jeep with halogen lights would freeze over the headlights in freezing fog, so got used to running lights if the conditions were there to potentially cuase icing of the headlights.

Old school halogen bulb headlights produce a lot of heat, therefore they don’t tend to get coated in snow/ice. Raptors (among other newer cars) have LED headlights, which don’t get hot whatsoever (I think it’s a good thing).

My headlights have ceramic coating on them just like the rest of the truck, that’s about all you can do.

Self explanatory. For those living in the snow and cold, have you had any issues with the headlights getting covered over from snow and ice when driving? Are there any good ways to prevent it?

Buy more lights: Fogs, aux bar, etc!
