I'm wondering if many others here are having issues with their rear camera? Mine is starting to show an error message saying the rear view camera is not available. Seems to be more often in the heat of the day than the morning. It was just an occasional annoyance, but its happening more frequently now. Granted, it's a 2011 and getting up there so I assume its the camera itself?

Thoughts? experiences?

I haven't had any problems with the rear camera but the front didn't work when I first got it, turned out the connector wasn't fully making contact; there's a lot of little pins and a good seal, wound up using channel locks to fully seat it. On yours though, I would suspect the wiring harness first, as the one that runs along the left frame rail (assuming that's the one that has the camera wiring but not certain) is susceptible to damage the way it comes from the factory, especially along the upward curve of the frame at the front.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check into that harness and connector. Hoping its just the connector although I do live in a dry climate, so I dont suspect corrosion there.

I have been having intermittent issues with the rear camera for a while. The image is flipped, flickering, blue screen or off. I have heard of the same issues with other F-150s. I have seen several posts suggesting that the camera needs to be replaced, but I haven't had time to look into it.

I should have time this weekend to explore further and post back if I find anything.

Noah, if it is a Data issue. how can that be tracked down? no other issues than the rear camera not reading. and that's only in the heat of the day.

Had a blue screen of death after about a month of my reverse camera flashing and being an all around *******. ended up buying a used cam off ebay, problem solved. check the connector but I am highly suspect that its your cam going. Unfortunately, you also have to replace your ford emblem in the process as it cannot be removed without destroying it

Did you buy the OEM replacement or go with the camera source replacement? Ford replacement is pretty pricey online.
