Go look for 2021 used raptors on car gurus. I did today just as a data point highest one 134k, lowest was 92k. They will drop as more get produced, but I think they will still hold value without any significant difference between 21 and 22. get the one you want/can and sell or trade in later if you want. I will bet that interest rates will rise with Brandons inflation/supply chain issues. Remember Jimmy Carter inflation days, like that only on steroids.

LF WILL HAVE A HIGH RESALE BECAUSE IT IS A LIMITED EDITION 21 TRUCK. MOST PEOPLE BUY A VEHICLE BECAUSE OF COLOR. LF LOOKS BADA$$
I didn’t even know this about LFG…that’s actually awesome. Good to know…thanks!!!

I probably would go with '21 model now. Although I don't think you'll lose more than 5k in equity on your current truck, you will lose some, you won't get a better interest rate, and the dealer you have a '22 with could decide that they can't sell for MSRP after all. Too many risks. I wouldn't hold out for the AMB unless the color is a huge factor for you.

And I wouldn't plan on holding the 21 just until the 22 comes out. Besides the fact you lose some money on the sales fees/taxes, etc, you probably won't feel like you own the vehicle and can use it as you wish while you wait.

Ive thought about them changing it up on me once the 22 arrives as well. Or selling from under me…again, so many variables

My opinion
I think the R will have the same effect as the Z06. That is that the Z06 did not depress the value of the Sting Ray.
My 2017 Z06 is worth 90% of sticker. The C8 is raising the value of the C7's.
When the new Z06 comes out it will be a niche vehicle as will the Raptor R.
As such it probably won't hurt Raptor values

I had this exact scenario recently. I was being offered a 2021 Oxford white at $5k over. I have a 2022 Oxford white on order for msrp. The 2021 had the same options minus a sunroof. I prefer a sunroof so my 2022 I ordered has one. I thought about buying the 2021 and trading it for the 2022 when it comes and making a bit of money off the 2021. My buddy that works at the dealer I ordered from said it may work, but they may not give me a decent trade due to selling me the 2022 at msrp. In the end it was a bit too risky for me and I decided to wait for the 2022. It may work out great but you may end up with a truck that’s not exactly what you wanted. And for those who say to sell the truck outright and buy the 2022, the tax incentives on a trade of that value vehicle is too substantial to pass up.

I'd get the 21. Determine the bottom dollar trade in for the 21 when the 22 comes. If you get that bottom dollar, swap them. But I would not assume top dollar for that 21 would be given - just have to calculate some value that makes it make sense to you. Could you make money? - yes. Could you lose money? - yes. Worst case scenario is you have a 21 gen 3 right?
