Today I ordered my wife a 2022 Expedition Limited. I have a 4 year old daughter and a baby that's in production for an August delivery. Ive purchased several vehicles from this dealer as they are much larger than my local dealer. They have a total of 3 allocations for 2022 GT500's which one CFTP allocation is already taken by the dealer owner to put in his collection so that leave one CFTP and one base allocation available. No ADM.

I find myself in a dilemma because I already have a Raptor on order (with allocation) however I am more likely to see the GT500 before I would a Raptor. I wouldn't purchase a CFTP as it doesn't have a rear seat, my daughter has a blast "accelerating fast" and I would like something that I could put my kids in for short trips or events but on the other side its not nearly as practical as a Raptor or any other truck for that matter. I already have a 2022 F150 crew cab for 90% work/10% personal duty.

With the above being explained, I don't want to spend the money to have both a Raptor and GT500 but I'm curious on input on what other forum members would do given the situation.

Talking about about vehicles, wife, kids on the way...in the same paragraph had me confused for a bit. I thought you might have been saying your wife wasn't the baby mama, you went with a 'larger dealer' than your 'local dealer'.

Anyway, tell your wife what your plans are. If you are wrong, she will probably tell you. I mean, I don't know your wife, but that's pretty typical. Does she really want the Expedition or is she doing it because she wants to be a responsible mom? Just wondering if she will subconsciously resent you for getting the non-practical vehicle why she has to be practical.

In your situation, I think the Raptor is exactly where you want to be. I did this same thing (on a much more modest scale financially LOL) when my kids were around. I had my modded little sports car, but when I my first kid came, I got a truck. Then I realized I missed zooming around myself. So traded the truck in for something more reasonable but quicker and more fun to drive (Mini Cooper JCW).. then I sold that and got a truck and I did this dance all over... but missed then fun.. I did this a couple times.

Where I landed is having 2 cars. My truck and a little sports car for me. Now my incoming Raptor is a nice mix of both. But my little sports car is a miata. But I would "never" give up the utilty of a truck for a sports car as a dad. It never works. IMO it's either truck only or add a more reasonable sports car (unless money is no option, then get both, GT500 & Raptor) :D

this made me lol :hahano:
EDIT: this was funny cause it sounds like every other member waiting for their Raptor to be made. Not sure if that was intentional or not!

I say just wait for the Raptor!

You are definitely in a hard place... I so want a GT500 too but the dealership here doesn’t have any allocations. It’s my plan to keep the Raptor and have that...my insurance seems to be going to the moon these days though not sure why.

Only because you have a work truck you can use for personal would I say the GT500. Otherwise a family man “needs” a truck. IMO

Is it possible to have the Raptor as a work truck and sell the 150? Or is it company owned?
I was giving a truck allowance from work and I choose a 2013 Raptor 8 years ago.
