Intake vs. Filter?

Hi all, hope you're staying sane in quarantine. I'm looking to modify the intake of my 2011 and I'm trying to decide between an intake system or just a drop in KN filter.

I do hit dust, mud and water often so safety is my primary concern. Which option is going to give me better results?

Please recommend which CAI if you suggest that route.

Stock filter is the best bet if your going to be in dust or mud often. Carry a spare in the cab.

I also highly recommend staying with the stock filter if off-roading. It will filter the best and is cheap to change.

Not a lot of people know that the stock motorcraft filter is in fact ever so slightly oiled.

I like the K&N filters, so I have installed their intake systems on all by Ford trucks.

I do my fair share of offroading, I love them and they sound great.

If you don't want the extra "growl", go with the K&N drop in. MHO...
