Now that you have some miles on the 3.0s do you get the "clunk" in the front end over small bumps? Like speed bumps, road dividers, hits like that? I put a used set on my '13, rebuilt them before installing and get a pretty solid clunk. No idea if its similar to the factory shock clunk, but my factory shocks did not, and these are torqued properly.. Just curious of you're experience with them.

They are riding great. Vastly different than what I was riding but keep in mind my stock has 150k on them so they were pretty worn out. I haven’t exactly figured out the settings yet but there is a noticeable difference in ride with each adjustment. It’s just a matter of getting it dialed in to preference. I have seen some guy last say they leave it wide open for road driving but that seemed to soft for me. Hope this helps!

In your picture you have zero spring pre-load, that would be softer and probably sit lower than a stocker. Did you set it to the recommended thread count for preload?
I want to say, mid perch was around 7-8 threads showing from top of threads to the top of the adjustment collar.
Dont forget to install the shock with the set screw in a position you can loosen it, and adjust the collar.

I have FOX 3.0 on the way. Is it difficult to adjust height once installed? My truck is front heavy (winch+whipple), stock shock with geiser spring, it's sitting at 40'' floor to fender. I want to be at 41.5'' with 3.0

Not at all. I jack one side at a time and add pre-load as needed. How many threads do you have showing from start of thread to top of lock collar?

Do you have the Fox C-Spanner with pin?

I have no idea what this means. I took them out of the box and installed them. Truck sits level.

When you say preload do you use a clamp? I've read if you don't and try to adjust the collar you'll strip the threads. My ******* installed straight out of box and didn't have the bolt pointing out so have to pull shocks out to adjust collar

Cant really tell you the distance floor to fender as I'm on 37's and running 32psi in them. It currently sits just under 43. I have 6 full threads/7 grooves showing above the collar. I sit just slightly nose down, but have Deaver + 3 out back so that is expected.
Somewhere I read that 7-9 threads on a 3.0 was between mid and top perch height. I did not need that much pre-load to get to level-ish.
I would rather have as little spring pre-load as necessary to achieve the height, as the rebound is only controlled with the valve stack and not the DSC, so don't need to increase the spring pressure.

See where my spring pre-load collar is sitting in the shock threads. I believe Fox recommends that you adjust the spring pre-load to 4-5 threads before installing.
I am sitting at 6-7

Pre-Load... I am referring to the adjustment you make to the top collar on the shock body. It Pre-Loads the spring and sets your ride height.

Without the weight of the truck, you should be able to adjust the collar without damaging the threads. Using a couple spring compressor's would make it easier I suppose, but there isn't a ton of room in there for that.
Just remember to tighten the set screw back up when you are done. I have seen where a loose adjuster slipped and ate the threads before.

I did not have access to a bench type compressor before installing my 3.0, so I did the spring pre-load adjustment on the truck. I used some anti-seize in the threads before turning the adjuster down on them.

I don't think there are any threads showing, I'm surprised it sits level.. That's cool that it does.
Did you index the set screw? If its in the back, you will have to remove the shock to be able to loosen it and turn the collar.

Picture below shows no threads
