can these be flush mounted in the bumper if you were so inclined to cut the bumper?

The short answer is no. Baja might release a flushmount bezel for the S1’s but it is not currently offered as of today. If you’re looking for flushmount lights, recommend the Baja Designs S2 flushmounts or Rigid offers a few flushmount options as well.

Correct. This setup allows the lights to be triggered when the truck is in reverse as well as via the aux switch. If you only want the lights to be activated via the aux switch, then you simply omit the connection to the tail lights.
Does your wiring harness use a diode to prevent current heading back to the OEM reverse light? Thanks!
