How To Install F150 Headlight Switch fog / driving lights

I just had a brainstorm. my wiring skills are up to par but my electrical design isn't that great.

I am one of the few who hasn't had an issue with fuse 27 melting yet, I did order the replacement kit and am going to install it soon, would it be possible to use the existing fuse 27 and the open relay socket in the OEM fuse box to feed some fog lights? Im trying not to have a bunch of random wiring all over the truck.

my fogs are currently on an up fitter but will be switching them to the headlight switch once all the supplies arrive

update. the pins in the connector are NOT d sub pins. i have no idea how you guys got them to work, I couldnt even get them into the connector. I removed the pins from my work truck which has wires for food but no fogs installed.

awesome theres some good info in that thread, Im going to be tackling the install tomorrow. going to attempt to use the factory fuse box for a cleaner OEM look. I will update with pictures if i get it to work.

Add fog lights and change to factory switch

This process should work on the F-series trucks as well as the E-series vans 2009-14(17).
This is what I did on my 2012 E-150 XLT van. I used the same switch as the F-series trucks. I only had the standard headlight switch originally (SW-6644). I wanted to change to the factory headlamp + fog light switch (SW-6636). I did have to get a new pigtail with all the wires for the new pins (WPT-934).

The fog lights come on when the switch is turned on and the knob is pulled out. The fog lights turn off when the high beams are activated (like the factory switch in my Explorer and legal requirement in many states).

The switch knob it a different style than the original switch. However, it matches the trim rings on the dash vents (gear-like rather than bar style). I think the F-series light switches are already like this.

To remove the switch, take off the skirt below the steering wheel (snaps off). Reach behind dash and push out the switch. Some tabs can be depressed to help release switch. The new switch has the same form factor and fits the hole. The existing plug is the same, just minus the extra wires needed.

The most important note here is that the factory fog light switch goes to ground, not +12v.

I ran the constant power from the power distribution box terminal in the engine compartment. The relays are in the engine compartment as well. The High Beam tap is from just behind the head lamp socket (easiest place to find wire).

Update: The foglight indicator light on the switch needs to be hooked to the foglamp power wire to illuminate. Relay-A, #87, to switch pigtail pin 10. See updated diagram.

I wanted to ask if anyone has done this on a Gen2 Raptor? Or possibly provide wiring diagrams for the 2018.

Have already purchased the replacement switch off eBay and would like to know the pinouts for the fog button on the Gen2 switch.

Second question is about the fuse box. It looks like the main wiring was a direct wire from the switch to a relay for the lights instead of anything going through the fuse block for the factory fogs.
I've done several searches but can't seem to find anything on using the fog switch/button on a 2nd Gen. Thanks for any help on this.
