I like the Gen 3 and sometime way down in the future, I might move to a 21-23. Tech upgrade is fine and all but not a fan of the Gen 3 interior, like the Gen 2's better. But most importantly and the deal killer for me is there is no super cab option.

I was searching for a Gen 3 because I just wanted "newer" and the upgraded infotainment was a draw. But the prices are what drove me away. Around me the price difference between a 21 & 20 was like $10k or more and I just couldnt justify it. Found a nice well taken care of 2019 with low miles for a great price and pulled the trigger. The more and more I look at the Gen 3 compared to mine the more I like the way mine looks

When the gen 3 came out, I thought it looked like a Chinese knock off and still do. The straight tailgate applique, the big translucent dome marker/clearance lights, the fender flares that stick way out from the less bulging fenders, the new style of the side steps; and many other small things; just generally looks cheaper to me.
Yes I have a gen 2 so I’m bias lol

I've had all 3 gens. I sold my 2017 Gen2 at around 70K miles and bought a barely used 2022 Gen3. I do think I like the exterior of the Gen2 a little better, but the Gen3 is nice as well. To me the front grill looks more like the Gen1 with the straight lines. As far as the suspension and tech goes, it's a great improvement over the Gen2. The wireless CarPlay, auto-closing tailgate, and bed camera are nice features as well. I have a Stage 2 Goosetuned on mine and it's every bit as fast as my tuned Gen2 on 93 octane. If you have a tuned Gen2 and go to an untuned Gen3, it will definitely feel sluggish by comparison. Hopefully Cobb will have the tune working with the 23-25 Gen3 soon. I had issues with both the transmission and cam phaser in my Gen2. So far the Gen3 has not had to take a trip to the shop (other then when a rodent munched on my knock sensors harness). I did have a weird electrical static issue occasionally with the B&O sound system, but a software update to the DSP module fixed it. It's been solid so far.

Since the slightly used Gen3 didn't have the tailgate applique, I just bought some raised F-150 letters. I am also not a fan of any of the graphics, but I did pick up these FP GN 03 graphics on Etsy to dress it up a bit.
