I'm trying to make her happy. If I didn't care I would have a Terrain Screw in the driveway next to mine right now!

I am a simple guy - Happy wife, happy life. Get her a Rubi Unlimited, she will love it and it will hold value like crazy. It is a nice vehicle to drive except for long road trips. I have two 2DR Wranglers and I love them, but drive the Raptor most days.

.....why can't she buy her own car....? On a side note my wife has a Murano and she loves it. She also loves driving the Raptor. She is 5'8 though so don't really have the height issue. My ex is 5' and she was obsessed with big trucks.

Go with this Jeep! I have a '00 TJ & I love it! And this one is low miles & enough in your budget for even more mods!

It's at the Collins Brothers Jeep in Texas, just google that!

What about the new Cherokee? Yeah, the styling is either love it or hate it, but once you're past that they are comfortable, quiet & you can get all the bells and whistles.

She is still in school and doesn't work. Her current vehicle needs to be replaced now and can't wait until she has a job with income.

Then go reliable and economical....Toyota, Honda etc (yah I know but they are cheap to run). I'm sorry but if your bank rolling the deal why wouldn't this make sense.....she can have her jeep or what ever when she is footing the fuel/maintenance/insurance bill for the deal or at least contributing ....

I know your trying to keep on the good side of life but she won't be happy either if she can't enjoy doing things if your financially fuel strapped.....

Besides what type of driving does she do that requires a 4x4?

Harsh but true......sorry.

No apology necessary. I didn't find anything you said to be harsh. I get that she likes Jeeps and the idea of a topless Jeep with the doors off and the wind blowing through her hair is appealing. But I haven't forgotten that she hates bugs, doesn't like her hair to get messed, has allergies to everything in nature, and doesn't like any sort of physical discomfort. I'm buying the Mazda CX5 this week. And as far as being financially fuel strapped it's the farthest thing from my reasoning. My 911 gets about 17mpg(premium fuel), the Raptor 12mpg(lots of fuel!) on a good day, and the Tacoma was in the middle at 14mpg. Once she saw all the creature comforts in the Mazda she was convinced. Crazy but true I really liked it. For 30k it's a really nice little SUV.
