GEN 1 I think my Roush 6.2 with 70K miles just broke a valve spring! Help!

You can at least pull the throttle body off that side w/o major issues. Not sure if that'll get you all 4 coils on that side, but I'd bet it will.

These engines have coil on plug up top, then a second plug on the side like an old school V8 that is fed with a wire from each coil up top.

I ordered 4 OEM Coil pack, 8 Wires and 16x 6510 sparkplugs yesterday through RockAuto.
I’ll put the 4 new coils at the back and inspect and test the resistance of each coils and then decide if i need to order more after.

Is the Roush Throttle body gasket reusable? Or i should order a new one?

When it comes to sparkplugs with a supercharger, you need to go one step colder and the gap is .30.
Stock gap calls for .40 or .44 I believe which will not work for supercharged.
I'm not sure of the OEM Motorcraft part number between stock and one step colder.

Before doing the plugs, call JDM for advice.

@MTF Good catch. Below are the compatible ruthenium vs. iridium plugs respectively based on Whipple and JDM’s recommendations.

0.030 gap required for Whipple application
NGK LTR7BHX (95605) or
NGK LTR7IX (9510)

NGK Irridium. Heat range 7. That is indeed what you want. I run NGK Irridium plugs in every gasoline engine I own.

Edit: You can probably get away with a 0.035 gap IMO. I run that in my S/C V8s without issue.

You’ll need to remove the throttle body and spacer elbow to access the back two coil packs. Prepare to bleed and cuss while getting the elbow off. There is a video out there that helps visualize where the bolts are.

Yeah, people talk about power and efficiency differences between the Whipple vs. Roush TVS, but the most important real world difference is whether you want to cuss more about alternator changes or plug/coil changes. :)

Yesterday, after warming up the engine I started to remove the Roush elbow, got the first 3 bolts out and then tried the last one at the back…….lost the only 1/4” swivel i had somewhere behind the engine!!!….ffs.
Crawled underneath and couldn’t find it..
So removed the 6 accessible coils and they all look old and probably original.(2011)
Few of them have green stuff in it…

Wires and sparkplugs looks almost bran new.
LTR6IX-11 = NGK6509’s
