Hahahaha get a an actual “real” Raptor; not a slash 4x4 RC car from local hobby shop…. Please stop trolling this forum because you have a build sheet and VIN # for which you probably paid 5-10k ADM and can’t actually afford the payment on the truck! Check that out I actually used a semi-colon correctly for you!
I’m pretty sure a comma would have been sufficient. Also, not to pick nits or anything, but I believe a period should have suffixed Hahahaha, G in get should’ve been capitalized, creating a completely new sentence. I think we also should’ve had a comma after ‘out’. But again, not picking nits or anything. Go back to H*nda forums was kinda funny, but let’s not get carried away here.
Just because the engine and transmission hasn't changed, doesn't mean the truck is the same... I keep seeing comments that is hasn't changed enough to warrant an upgrade from a Gen2. The interior is completely different as is most of the exterior styling (love it or not)... plus the suspension is completely different in the rear with new shocks all around. Plus a 37 option. Love the styling or not, it is a different truck... minus engine and transmission. I was on the fence at first, but now I think the Gen2 looks dated compared to the Gen3. My 0.02.
Good points. While I’m not pining for 37’s, the big thing is that you can have the 37’s with a factory warranty, and not have to throw parts & labor at it to get stuff to fit and work correctly. Having been to Raptor Assault in 2017, and R/A staff were using a Gen1 along with us, the Gen1 kept up just fine for about 80% of the day. Right up to the point it broke down. Some kind of electrical gremlin, but off road wise, the truck is more than capable off road.
A lot of Gen 2 owners are still paying the truck off, and I think a lot of us - me included, were expecting to see more power from the eco boost. I’m sure they’ve done some refinements to the engine / transmission by way of some revised parts somewhere and programming, but Gen 2 end users aren’t seeing the tangible benefit to upgrading. Even so, a lot of evolutionary changes have been implemented and the suspension has been improved. For users like me, I’m running the simple, dumb Fox shocks and have no complaints. I’ll be interested to hear about the Gen3 reports, a lot of the first iteration of live valve shock customers were complaining about harsh ride.
I was vehicle poor in 2017 and needed a good replacement, and while I’m glad I got the Rap, I hated having to weed through the stealerships to avoid ADM. I’m looking forward to when the Gen 3 prices level off to more reasonable prices and going shopping.
