anyone know if the windshield from safelite has the f-150 logo at the top or where can i get an oem replacement from and is it even possible to get an oem with my road hazard insurance?

my truck is less than a month old when i'm driving today and something hits the windshield from a pickup truck in the lane next to me. i didn't see a chip or anything so i stop to eat lunch, come out the restaurant and the crack is already a foot long. grrrr!

That sucks...sorry about that...

I think you just tell them you want the OEM glass to make sure, but the replacement should be the same...

Safelite replacement windshield has the F150 logo. It is OEM windshield. You have to tell them that's what you want cause it costs more than a regular plain one.

here, on frf
you need to have that coverage on your insurance too, otherwise they will only pay for an aftermarket windshield and not oem, leaving you to pay the difference

New windshield is about $450 from the stealership, and they have to order it. Sucks man, I know. Mine is also cracked after owning it for only 3 months. At this point it has been cracked longer that not.

Not looking forward to replacing it. If you have a choice, replace it with PPG, I have yet to break one of theirs. Although a big enough rock will break anything.

NY requires windshield insurance so there is no cost to the owner. I have fount the the Safelight brands are not the same. They sell the windshield and do the installation, its a double win for them and also the insurance company b/c they are getting it less than the OEM. Best bet is to go to a body shop, they usually have people they deal with (not Safelight) that replace their windshields, if you have coverage you should b allowed to use who you like. The cost of the installation is the same so insurance cant argue that and the windshield is OEM which they cant argue either.

Either way, Good Luck!

9,000 miles and 4 chips, the last is gonna require replacement. This thing is a rock magnet. 80,000 plus miles on my 06 KR and maybe one chip (major).
