We have done the research and found that federal emissions standards are moving to the CA standard starting with the 2017 model year. I have also found that the 2016 3.5L marked 49 state emissions sticker matched the CA sticker. It appears that there was a fine for 3.5L because it did not pass all of the standard. We really want to compare the stickers and if they match we should be good to go. We even checked with Ford service and they were not aware of what the difference could be. If you have a Raptor and could just pop the hood and take a photo of the emissions sticker that would be helpful.

Here is the deal, if it is a CARB state you can get CA emissions, if it is a NON CARB state YOU CANT!!! I didn't make the **** up and i don't know why?

I just know that is how it works?

CARB STATES;
CA, Arizona, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington, as well as the District of Columbia.

I also know that some of the surrounding states that are connected to a CARB state can also sell CA emissions but only some of the dealers. Why i dont know?

Look Im not trying to be a @ss, I would luv to place an order with 20 allocations i have found in the last two or three months, but instead the dealers are telling they cant do it and i pass on the info for someone to make there day!

If you find some other way of placing the order for CA emissions in a none CARB state please let me know as you would be my Superman, as for now not so much.

this info is off the CARB website;

California has the strictest air quality standards in the nation, so most manufacturers build their vehicles to meet its regulations. Fourteen other states, plus the District of Columbia, adopted the standards set by the California Air Resources Board (CARB). Buying a car in any of those states means it will pass the requirements of all 50 states. However, some cars are still made only to be sold in non-CARB states. If you bought a new car in a non-CARB state, you might not be allowed to register it in a CARB state.

The states adopting CARB standards include Arizona, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington, as well as the District of Columbia.

I understand where you're coming from but here's the problem I see with that. That would allow CA dealers to sell anywhere but wouldn't allow certain dealers to sell to CA. There is no way that would be possible. With the franchise agreements every dealer has equal opportunity. If you are 10 miles from the plant you still pay the same price for shipping as a dealer 200 miles away. If you sell 10 cars a month or 1,000 cars a month your cost is still exactly the same for units.

So there is no way CA dealers would be allowed to sell anywhere yet certain dealers not be allowed to sell in CA.

Hi guys. I am the one that the op was talking about. He is correct I cannot order one with California emissions for stock or retail.

I do have allocations however I cannot give a time frame that they will pick up to be built. Could be 6 months before we see the truck.

I have attached a photo from wbdo with the error message.

Is that ordering the truck as a stock unit or a retail unit?

So it won't let you order a retail unit with CA emissions?

So a CA dealer can sell in your state but you can't sell in theirs? Have you contacted your Ford rep about that? I just can't believe that's the case. Our reps are out until Jan 2nd. I'll have to contact her when shes back and get confirmation on that. I just can't believe that's the case.

The number of CA sales to other non adjacent state sales would be a rounding error for F150s
