CA emissions

Before I posted I went in our ordering system and spec'd a Raptor out with CA emissions just to make sure. I put it in as a retail order which may make a difference.

If that was the case Ford would be telling dealers outside of CA that they can't sell vehicles in CA.

I'm in PA. PA requires CA emission. We can't order CA emission for a PA sale so we use the code "CA emission for non CA registration". But I can still order CA emissions or 49 state emission for out of state sales. That is the same for all dealers.

Maine is probably like PA. CA emissions are required. So they would order their vehicles just like we do. CA emissions for non CA registration

Everyone should be able to order CA emissions. All dealers are allowed to sell cars in all states. For example MD is not a CA emission requirement state like PA is but they normally always order the CA emission for non CA registration so they can sell in the surrounding states that require that.

I can order 49 state emissions (non CA or CA required states), CA emission or CA emissions for non CA registration. Every dealer should be able to do the same thing.

I know you're not trying to make it hard on yourself. I think the person at the dealership may just not understand the how to order it. We have two different ways to order vehicles. The most current way is called WBDO. That system has the CA emission option in a different location than the 49 state or CA for non CA registration. So they may just be missing it.

I think the key thing there also is it probably has to be put in as a retail order. The system is kind of dummy proof to keep dealers from not ordering the correct emission for their location. So a stock order with that option is possibly generating an error message when they try to price and or order it.

Can anyone upload a photo of the emissions sticker from a CA raptor (found inside the hood)? We're buying one in IL, but live in CA and need to know for sure if the one the dealer has ordered is compliant.

Seriously?! I've worked in sales at a Ford dealership for 30 years and have never heard of this. Why do you think Ford would allow certain dealers to sell in CA and not others? Ever hear of franchise agreements? Yeah we'll they're all the same for every Ford dealership. So if I can order a truck in PA my customer from CA, then so can they.

You can find out the info on the DMV Website, the sticker says CA on it.

We've got the window sticker and it doesn't claim CA compliant. The VIN is 1FTFW1RG7HFA43175. We figured comparing the emissions sticker between trucks would be the best approach based on guidance from the DMV.

Here is the deal, if it is a CARB state you can get CA emissions, if it is a NON CARB state YOU CANT!!! I didn't make the **** up and i don't know why?

I just know that is how it works?

CARB STATES;
CA, Arizona, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington, as well as the District of Columbia.

I also know that some of the surrounding states that are connected to a CARB state can also sell CA emissions but only some of the dealers. Why i dont know?

Look Im not trying to be a @ss, I would luv to place an order with 20 allocations i have found in the last two or three months, but instead the dealers are telling they cant do it and i pass on the info for someone to make there day!

If you find some other way of placing the order for CA emissions in a none CARB state please let me know as you would be my Superman, as for now not so much.

Buying a car in any of those states means it will pass the requirements of all 50 states. However, some cars are still made only to be sold in non-CARB states. If you bought a new car in a non-CARB state, you might not be allowed to register it in a CARB state.

The states adopting CARB standards include Arizona, Connecticut, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington, as well as the District of Columbia.
