pretty sure you'll have to remove the bakflip to install the bedrug or bedtred.

I didn't think that bedtred had a model for with the tailgate step, but they do have a bedrug model for with the tailgate step. bed extender doesn't matter.

Sorry... I already threw away the box. I ordered from Morrie (Bakflip Outlet Sponsor) and he knew exactly what I needed. Mine has the zippers (which is what you want).

Call Morrie, he has the best prices.

//EDIT// No. BedTred does not support the Old Man Step. Sorry.

Idk. I was hoping the guy who ordered first could tell us that. Oh right, that guy doesn't have his truck yet! :ROFLJest:

BTW, not all BedTreds and BedRugs have zippers to the floor piece. This was an update to the line. Some retailers/stores/websites are still selling old ones so be safe and ask.

I've bought several bedrugs from as far back as 2002, and never heard of any not having zippered floor pieces.

There are other knock off carpeted bed liners that don't zipper together, but I've never seen a bedrug brand liner that didn't.

yep you certainly do :waytogo:

I'm going to go on a limb and say that the non-zipper was only for the bedtred, as I've never seen or heard of a bedrug not having zippers once over the past decade. The bedtred is fairly new so I could see them not incorporating them at first with the new design with how thin the bedtred is, and a harder material.

I do have to say, that install does look like it sucks though, more of an oragami exercise with all the velcro having to overhang to fold together and adhere the peices together lol. Zippered route is definitely the way to go. Bedrug installs are a cake walk.

I sure hope that isn't the same velcro as the bedrug uses, that the bedtred showed. The odler bedrug velcro had a thicker white foam backing, that was insanely beefy, yet if removed, the foam backing would peel off like that 3M sticky tape for walls that is removable. That velcro in the vid looks like it's the clear glue adhesive, which when removed usually sticks to the paint and is a royal PITA to remove.

why does that make your bedtred feel inadequate? Didn't you say yours is the newer style with the zipper? In that case install should be same as a bedrug.

As for the velcro, if they switched to the cheaper kind, only difference that makes is if you remove it, the residue will be more of a PITA to remove than the older type they used to use. Only difference that makes is if you part the truck out to sell it. Which in my case, I'm not keeping it forever, and I don't sell modded vehicles, make back way more parting out back to stock, so that is a concern of mine. Cheaper velcro now = bigger PITA down the road several years. Not a big deal, but just worth mentioning.

Now where's that spare tire pic! lol

It was the velcro comment. I'm sure it's high quality though. It had 3M backing on it, which makes me sure of its quality.

Still waiting for the first order guy to post up. I have no right to post it before him :)
