My wife isn’t that opposed to my vehicle choices, but... how do I respectfully say this? ... let’s just say, she’s not an enthusiast. She has a long and distinguished history of cheap, peasant cars. I hate peasant cars.

You do realize that you're a lucky man, don't you? You could have ended up with a woman who wants the best of everything. Always wants the nicer car, nicer house, and has no concept of the word 'budget'. A woman who doesn't understand that eventually, you have to pay more than the minimum balance on your credit cards.

Yes, you may have to convince her that nice things are worth it every now and then, but you won't wake up one morning with 30k+ CC debt wondering what the hell happened to your life.

You would think that, but then, you would be incorrect, sir. Wife 1.0 has a keen ability to spend herself into oblivion. THAT’s one reason why she has had nothing but peasant cars.

A few years ago we had a pretty big anniversary. I’d been saving pennies here and there for a summer trip in 2015. Around Christmas I brought up the subject of where we want to go - I’m thinking Olde country, haven’t been to Croatia yet, maybe grab a bike for a few days, hit the Dolomites or Alps... We’ve been there on a motorcycle a few times before and it was ****ing awesome.

I get an evasive answer and she disappears for a while. Later that night she tells me she needs to me to pay some bills for her.

Double Ewe. Tee. Eff?

It went south from there. let’s just say there was not only no trip to Europe, there was no trip anywhere. Things have mostly improved. But I knew if I let the car situation go she’d go out and buy the cheapest Hyundai or Subaru made, no options and I’d be stuck with it for years to come.

Sorry to hear that, but it could be worse. And I must admit that life for the hypothetical man I was referring to earlier has turned out rather nicely.

You guys made me laugh so hard - from being confused about the flatiron to how ur wives react to your truck. I love my truck and I get a kick out of guys’ reaction when they me (a female) driving it. Priceless look. Even more fun when some decide to race me at lights. They end up not being close enough to even eat my dust. My favorite is when I’m dressed all girlie girlie with stiletto heels and I pull up to a valet!!

Being hard of hearing, I don't always hear what others say and my wife thinks she has to repeat, he said your truck is bad ass. Can't we go anywhere without people saying they like your truck but deep down I think she loves it.

As for the flat iron, that shit doesn't belong in a Raptor unless your doing some wiring. Do they even get hot enough to melt solder?
