???

I'm 99% sure the wires from the switches are sized due to fuses sizes, but the bypass wires/relayed wires are all the same size due to no issue with fuses sized because its in the switches.

Personally I have used the bypass wires to get in and out of the cab the thing you really need to know is which switch you are hooking up to due to amp load and fuse size.

I got that information on wire size from SDHQ website so... Yea.

Awesome. Thanks BigJ definitely a BIG help.

Just have to calculate the Max Peak...

Where did you ground it to?

is that bolt near the pass through okay or is it better to find something else?
That would work I think, but I just used any one of the other grounds between here and there. You can see it here along the ridge of the sheet metal on the leftish side of the pic:

Edit: Bad info on wire sizes removed. ISFast is correct.

Mine were not different sizes. I would be very surprised if any were, but I suppose its not out of the realm of possibility. There's no practical reason make some smaller than the other in this application; resistance thru a fatter wire in this case would be the theoretical reason, but in this case at the lengths we're talking no way. There'd be no benefit to the added part number, assembly procedure and associated increased production costs.

In fact if I recall correctly I think all wires are 18 gauge (someone correct me if I'm wrong). I remember thinking that was pretty small for 30amps, but it didn't bother me enough to change it.

I'll take a look tomorrow when I get off work and post a pic of my finding.

Cool! If I can find a few minutes I'll take a look at mine too.

You can see the small Brown switch 4 10am wire and the bigger purple switch 3 wire. The others are all the same size.

I stole this from http://www.fordraptorforum.com/f12/...ter-switches-explained-video-6501/index2.html

It also explains the sizes of wires in it as well. Just wanted to make sure no one got bad INFO.

You know what? I blew it. You guys are totally right on the wiring sizes. I just checked mine and sure enough the brown wire is smaller. I must just be having a brain fart.

I'll go back and edit out my misinfo to make sure no one else gets confused. Sorry about that!

It happens to the best of us for sure! I'm just glad I wasn't going crazy because I've been in that tight SOB a few times and don't care to go back :lol2:
