There isn't any help for you.
Unless you unprotect the iTunes songs so you can play in any device.
I believe it cost $2.99 a song to buy unprotected songs from iTunes.

In iTunes you can save a song as MP3 format, then find it in the song list, click and drag the MP3 to your USB key. Works for me.

You are saying you can take a Apple AAC song file that is protected and export it as an .mp3 unprotected? Can you confirm this.
My daughter finally got rid of her iPhone she went with Moto Mini (Android) she will never go back much better phone!
Anyway she has about 900 songs and 157 of them are protected.
I've done some research on how to get Apple protected songs over to Windows Media Player unprotected, for her 2013 Escape.
It didn't sound to easy, lots of steps and funky programs not mention quality issues to rip the songs.
If you or anyone have a better way please chime in.

dbPoweramp

Use this to convert from apple to any format of your choice. Simple, quick, and fairly easy.

Granted, I don't have many iTunes downloads (I prefer to buy the cd and rip to a lossless audio format to retain the maximum quality), but When just trying to use the original apple file I would get the same problem on MFT. After converting with dbPoweramp, I've had no problems whatsoever.

Convert to Windows Media Audio (WMA) for maximum compatibility. I wrote up a guide on what to look for last year. Check it out for more details on the process.

Thanks I'll check it out.

I did see a lot of those converters only do one song at a time and many want money for more than 5 to 10 songs or batch process. :-(

My daughter also has a lot of shared library songs so she couldn't even sync to her iTunes player anymore. So I spent $19.99 for a program that takes everything off (batch process) the iPhone without jail breaking it.

Again thanks!!!

dbpoweramp isn't freeeware, but it's well worth the price and is great at doing batch conversions. It utilizes all available processor cores when converting. I can't remember how long it took to convert my entire library (4800+ worth of songs), but it wasn't very long. I want to say easily under 10 minutes.

Yeah, I'm checking it all out now.

If my daughter didn't have a 4.0 I'd tell her to do it herself, but I rather she studies. LOL

I just drug my entire iTunes library to the thumb drive. Plugged it in, and everything plays just fine. The file format is whatever is downloaded from iTunes....I didn't convert to another format.

I did notice a difference in the 2 usb ports in the center console though. The first caused a message about unprotected stuff to come up, so I plugged the thumb drive into the other USB port right beside it and it worked.

Unfortunately a 2010 only has one usb port in the dash, if there's another one the center console I didn't see it.
As far as I know there is only a power outlet, I'll double check tomorrow morning.

Do you know for sure that you have some iTunes songs protect?
