Is the thumb drive formatted in exFat instead of Fat32. Give that a shot and it will most likely recognize the drive

Thanks, sorry, I didn't realize I didn't post what I found was the problem. It ended up being what Buyfire posted. You have to go into the audio settings and reset the media index. If you don't, Sync will not see the new music. Once you know it's there, it's pretty straight forward, but you have to go in and look for it and reset it, takes 2 minutes.

Have you tried restarting your truck's media system? That can help. I've never had such problems, but I know that many friends restarted the truck from the moment they had problems with Sync and started showing them new music on the USB drive. But be careful not to delete everything you have stored in the Media, not to worsen the situation. I don't think you want everything to worsen. You better seek the help of a specialist. Because I don't know what it's like to recover lost information stocked in a car's media, but I know how difficult it is to recover lost information from the computer's hard drive. It took me a few days to try to recover my information, and in the end, I turned to a hard drive data recovery company anyway. And I guess it's just as hard in the case of the car. So be careful.
